DDOS attack has nothing to do with hacking.

Who says it was hacking? You can be a hacker without the need to actually hack to bring down something...
It is talking about a DDOS attack (which is even worse if Sony have trouble dealing with that anyway...)

Read my edit

Your edit did not say where it was saying they were "hacking" something... Sorry.
And it is a very BAD infrastructure if it can fall multiple time for a DDOS attack, plain and simple. Firewall and routers can easily detect a DDOS attack these days and prevent it in many way (auto-closing connection right up front etc...).

And dude stop posting non-sense: "The only company who is immune is Google"... I hope you are not serious here...

You are fucking stupid, you clearly don't know what a DDOS attack is.

Edit: And yes, I am serious.

Obviosuly reported you for the insult but yes, I know what is a DDOS attack and I know that you can protect about it.
You seem to have a lot of faith in Google, please just use it and search for DDOS attack protection. There are many way (require some work and a good infratructure) to mitigate it big time.

And if you really know what a DDOS attack is, then you should also know that Google (who does not have the most servers out there as you said) (Amazon, Azure and a lot of others says "hi") is not immune in anyway, they just have the proper infrastructure to handle it.

I said "someone like" not just Google, and yes immune was not the right word I used.

Butthurt over Bloodborne, no doubt.

And just to be clear, I do not say it is easy to mitigate the DDOS attack but it is doable (and cost some money as you need to be able to handle the load at first before to mitigate it). I can post a lot of whitepaper link explaining how to do so.

For the record, I dislike very much those "hackers" and I hope Sony will fix this soon (and it sucks for the Playstation gamers).
But the reality is that with a paying service Sony should be able to build a good infrastructure to prevent that 6+ down hours...

The problem with the internet is that you *cannot* prevent DDOS attacks from happening, all you can do is fix it after the event. So how does paying for a service mitigate the fact that any service provider in the world can get affected by DDOS.
