Forums - Gaming Discussion - Hacker Group Vow to Destroy Sony

The hackers are right, Sony dont give a **** about their customers. They are cheap skating on protecting customers sensitive information because they are greedy. Instead of using their income from playstation on industry best practices to protecting user data, they take the money and use it plug the holes in their other businesses that are losing billions.

For example Sony is rife with fishing scams. Valve, Blizzard and Microsoft have two step verification where you need a second code they send to your e-mail or mobile phone to access your account from a new device.

Sony still don't have it and hackers can just repeat the old origin trick of fishing your account password then getting in with your account. You can't even avoid it without a credit card. Even if you buy PSN wallet top ups, they can steal that instead.

Lol do you even know what Phishing is? (not fishing...lol).

Phishing is the sending of a fake email made to look like it's from a reputable company. If you wanted you can send a phishing email from *ANY* company, including Blizzard and Valve. You just need an email address, you can assume some of them have accounts on that service.

It's quite common to get them from Amazon, ebay and paypal... what shitting companies for not being able to stop idiots sending you fake emails.

A two step verification will not stop this....

Funny how the lack of computer literacy and knowledge makes it suddenly Sony's fault.

Except like I pointed out companies like Blizzard, Valve and Microsoft have two step verfication which kills 99% of these scams in their tracks. The reality is that these scams exsist and people will fall for them. The fact is Sony dosnt have basic industry standard to protect their customers shows they dont care.

Not to mention this happened before in 2011 and still didnt learn their lesson which proves they are either lazy, incompentent or just dont care or most likely all three.

 -PSN gets hacked in 2011
-lie about it for 2 weeks
-finally admit they lost 60 million users personal info
-PSN is shut down for 2 months
-offer to make amends
-10% discount on playstation plus subscription guys!!!
-Finally give away a game after fans throw a shitstorm and threaten class action law suit

They should have gone ahead with the lawsuit.

I am completely surprised by this: http://www.gamesreviews.com/news/08/sony-ddos-attacks-affect-single-player-simple-fix-found/

How can this be affected? Well, how is easy, but why? Why would single-player games rely on a whatever response from a Sony server to run?

Not sure if serious, but if so... Some useless game loves to try and log to server (EA have a lot of it) for leaderboards and other useless content. Have saw a lot of errors when starting a game because of it.

Why not sure if serious? Do EA games not even start when there is no online? Trying to and getting nothing but still playable is something completely different.

This will be them trying to protect their corn hole in about a year from now.

Because you are quite knowledgeable. So I wasn't sure if you didn't knew or was taking a joke at the useless need to connect to server to play SP.

Never tried to play one of those games while psn was down. I was either offline and get an error with message "no leaderboard, please connect to psn" or something like that. Then I had to cancel to enter the game. When logged on psn as soon as a game tried to connect to server I also cancelled. Don't want to take the time just to have a score on leaderboard.

I don't have the game on the link to know how is the startup, but probably is the same trying to log before main menu without user request (companies forcing things we don't want, maybe piracy check).

This is why people should not get digital games in consoles.
