Forums - Nintendo Discussion - WiiU third party price, value and perception

and you wonder why there are no third-party´s supporting the wii u, batman arkham city only worth 20$, but the millionsth 2d-mario that plays exactly like all of them before is worth 60$,
nitendo was once innovative, but know they just rehash everything and moneyhatt for some variety

Hence why third party publishers should work on their value wrt Nintendo audience. But obviously it is much easier to just drop support.

Work on it how, charge less ??

hence they go put effert on platforms where their games are loved and purchesed not hated  and whined they arent "value" enough for elitist ninty fans.

Its only logical to drop support, in every sense possible from any angle you can choose to look at the choice.

There are other ways to change the perception of value than just dropping price (where ROI is non-existent).

Bayonetta 2 release includes the first game in the package. What if EA released the trilogy instead of Mass Effect 3? Or Ubisoft with its AC1+2+3? You build an audience, and don't expect it to grow instantly. Rome wasn't build in a day.

i´ve got the numbers wrong for some reason but you still say that nsmbu is worth 3,5 time more money than batman ac and i completly understand when third-partys let the wii u alone nitendo fans are not that different from those people who buy only cod/fifa every year and say that other games are not whort it

You Nintendo fans are lucky, I've bought and returned many shovelware game on my PS3.

Bet with Xander XT:

I can beat more games on his 3DS than he can on my PSVita in a month. Loser has to buy the winner a game on his/her handheld Guess who won? http://gamrconnect.vgchartz.com/thread.php?id=193531

What was wrong with ACIV port? It played just as good as any other system (minus the visuals of PS4/ONE for obvious reasons).

The only reason you think Nintendo games are worth more is cause they never discount. If Nintendo discounted games months after release you would have the same perception.

Look at the mobile market. People have been conditioned with free and $1 games that anything over $5 seems expensive. Game may be 10x better but that audience is expecting $1 or less otherwise its overpriced.

PS4 is rome, why waste time effert and $$$$$ on a fools errend ?

Audience already exists, just not on your desired platform maybe.

Yeah sure, casual gamers, just like COD/FIFA. I got NSMBU four months after my WiiU purchase because it reached my value threshold and there was nothing else. I was ready to purchase Rayman Legends one month before but as you might know that game was delayed (I bought Origins instead).

Maybe Cobretti is right, and that Nintendo titles don't drop in price as fast as third party ones. So if you want a Nintendo title it will cost around the same next year, meanwhile the third party one will already be 3.5 times less. Still doesn't explain why people then don't buy them at bargain bin prices?
