Well, if you like Nintendo's offerings then sure! The WiiU is indeed the better secondary console!

Its because Nintendo games are a nice change to the games Sony and Microsoft tend to push out. Nintendo offer the best quality titles in genres that you dont really see a lot of on PS and Xbox, along with a whole bunch of other unique things that you wont tend to see on competing platforms.
But yeah, if I wanted a secondary console I'd definitely choose WiiU over Xbox One. Still, PC is way more than enough for me as a "secondary console". Heck, PS4 alone would be enough for me.

I never buy two consoles per gen, but if I'd get one WiiU would be the more apparent choice. But I think 3ds would suit even better, since it always has more unique games and Jrpgs.

You obviously can have the NWU as a primary console, if you have a PC.
I'm pretty sure that aside from Atlus, Capcom and Square Enix titles, the 3DS largely overlaps with the NWU. Wait...

I find it to be a better secondary console for the reasons others have already listed. The offerings on PS4 and XB1 are very similar and Nintendo offers a nice break from the pattern. I also think that having all 3 is best though. :)
Depends. It really does.
I would use ps4/x1 as the secondary one, if I had one of them.

Well yeah, it has the same IPs. Mario Kart, 3D Mario, 2D Mario, Super Smash (same game, even, or thereabouts), Zelda, Yoshi, Kirby and more. Moreover, it actually has 3rd party support (many 3rd party games that are exclusive even). So yeah, if I wanted Nintendo IP I would probably get 3DS over WiiU.

I myself am no fan of Nintendo but I think having an X1/WiiU or PS4/WiiU combo makes more sense than PS4/X1. I only have one console at a time though. I think were I to have more than one I'd be consumed by gaming and that's not a good thing with a wife and 2 kids. |
Are you me from 4 years ago? Pretty sure I said exactly the same thing about PS3/360/Wii. Now of course I have to kick my boys off the console / PC to get some game time in.
