Forums - Microsoft Discussion - New Microsoft studios uncovered from new LXP website

Leap Experience Pioneers or LXP has a new website at http://www.lxpstudio.com/

Apparently, they "create far future experiences, for inventive hardware" which could mean many things, from vanilla Xbox One, to Kinect, Project Fortaleza or something else entirely.

What's even more interesting is that they list some of their "sister studios" who are currently hiring at the bottom of the page. That includes already known about studios such as Good Science and Platform Next, but also some new names like SOTA (state of the art), [FUN]ction Studios, and something that I suppose might be called NP or N to the power of P.

Now, even though we already know about Platform Next, we still don't know what exactly they are working on. Similarly, [FUN]ction is not exactly brand new, since we already talked about it before last year's E3, and Steverulez published some more of his detective work on his blog. Still, the studio is pretty much a mystery at this point.

NP and SOTA are brand new, to my knowledge. I couldn't find anything about the former, and the only thing I found about SOTA is this guy on Linkedin who states that We Are Royale did some animation work for them at the end of 2013.

Thats good news, they could always use new developers.

I am seriously hoping one of these divisions end up working on a new Flight Simulator.

Remember, "inventive hardware" can mean accessories. And, an accessory is a control column (and the rudder pedals.)

Kinect could be used for the voice recognition as well, since we know that pilots have to contact air traffic controllers.

I WON A BET AGAINST AZUREN! WOOOOOOOOOOAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH

:3

So from what I gathered on these, they are small studios who worked on the unbundled Kinect hw and other pieces of tech and hw..

If you all want some more news on this come to XBE. Ryuu has actually been finding a lot of stuff on this and im not going to Copy and paste it all in here.

One studio is working on a big new ip. From the sounds of it, both LXP and Platform Next could be AAA studios. The others im not sure about.

Anyways we started talking about it on this page. http://gamrconnect.vgchartz.com/thread.php?id=164905&page=4929
