With PS4 selling around 4.2m in 2013 and reaching over 10m just a few days ago, we can safely say that PS4 has sold around 5.8m in 2014.

VGC data says Xbox One has sold ~2m in 2014.

5.8/2 = 2.9 which means PS4 has outsold Xbox One 2.9:1 in 2014 or around 3:1 if we round up for simplicity

Is this something that will continue? Something you expected back in 2013? Something you never dreamed of? 

And for me will sell triple even lifetime, imho.

I don't think it will be 3:1 by the end of the year but it is impressive while it lasts

There was no way Xbox was gonna beat PlayStation on a worldwide sales basis if they both released at the same time. I dont think any Xbox fan could say with a straight face, that they expected Xbox to win worldwide sales. To me, the most shocking is the Europe and north American numbers. To see Sony winning those is a shock. However, I still think the north American market is still up for grabs. I think Xbox fall lineup is stronger than Sony's so hopefully that will drive sales. I also see quite a few friends on my 360 friends list that have yet to upgrade and im wondering which one they will choose. I think the majority of people forget that this generation is just getting started. The majority of gamers haven't decided which system to choose. Now evidence suggests that ps4 will be the winner but I think Xbox will be fine and do better than most people think. Too many doom and gloom threads IMO.

Nah. I don't expect it to keep outselling by such a big ratio. For 2014, it will probably outsell it by 2.5:1.

I think that PS4 will get a higher than a 3 to 1 ratio

But it had Titanfall this year, along with some other console exclusives (timed or otherwise)

Why would next year be any better? So far they have anounced less exclusives for next year, and sony has anounced at least double the a,ount of exclusves(And I mean AAA) and evenly distributed across the year. So people will look at that data going into the holidays and still be tripled in sales. Next year I expect 4-5 times in the begining of the year.
