Forums - Gaming Discussion - Skylander Trap Team TABLET Edition - Game Changer

http://www.engadget.com/2014/08/12/skylanders-trap-team-tablet-starter-pack/

With the news that Skylanders will not only release on consoles/hand-consoles but on Tablet at the same time...and it's the very same game....is this a BIG deal?

Well yes it is.  As far as I know, this is the first time a fully fledged game has released on Tablet at the same time as on console...and it's not a cut-down, tablet-centric game....it's the full Skylander Trap Team game.

I wonder if DF will do a huge comparison for this one...including performance on iOS/Android/FireOS as well as PS3/360 etc.

Will this start like for like releases with other games?  Probably not, but will this be the last.... I seriously doubt it.

One thing is for sure......I will pick one up once it reduces in price, as the controller will likely work with other games etc...and to get a cheap Bluetooth controller for the iPad is good.

Anyway, what do you guys think?

Prediction (June 12th 2017)

Permanent pricedrop for both PS4 Slim and PS4 Pro in October.

PS4 Slim $249 (October 2017)

PS4 Pro $349 (October 2017)

Around the Network

This should be signs of the shifting market. This seems to directly compete with the Wii U version as well, for obvious reasons.

Well ... I'd be a little worried if I was Nintendo, but really at this stage what can you do? Tablets/smartphones + kids is simply a runaway train.

If the game actually look exactly like the PS3/360/Wii U versions ... I think we are definitely getting closer to the day of a Nintendo handheld pumping out Wii U quality graphics too. So from a Nintendo fan POV it's kinda neat in that way even if its bad news for Nintendo as a business.

Well they are also offering free Wii U codes if you buy the Wii version (also the Wii version apparently sells the best) so I'm not even sure how Nintendo should feel right now.
