That's not even sexism. Calling someone who's being a whore a whore is not sexist. Men can be whores and sluts as well. You just hear it less often which is a form of sexism since it's cool for men to get around but the words themselves aren't. Some people are gone PC crazy. I used to take part in other forums a lot but I am cutting it down a lot everywhere as people are becoming too sensitive online.

Can anyone explain to me which threads/posts prompted this response?

I don't read every post of every thread, but I haven't really come across anything on this site both recently and in the past that I would say is sexist. At least I can not come up with any specific examples.

And another one regarding the absence of females on the site. (I believe)

http://gamrconnect.vgchartz.com/thread.php?id=188765

I thought it might have been that thread. My point remains, I am just not seeing anything in that thread that could be construed as offensive to men, women or anyone really. Seems like a harmless observation of the users of this site with the usual bunch of jokes/sly remarks that any thread on this site gets.

I could understand that it is implying that there are not many female members of the site, but is it sexist to make that observation and/or ask this question? Others have noted in that thread that part of the issue is that we simply don't notice gender as you have to actually look at someone's profile to see gender (which anyone could just lie about anyways).

Frankly, I don't care what the male/female ratio is on here, but the OP in that thread wanted to talk about it.

It did not degenerate into some sort of flame war or anything which would happen if I made a thread like, "Where have all of the Microsoft fans gone?"

Like I said, I am still looking for sexism here. Maybe I need a magnifying glass to see it or something.
