Forums - Gaming Discussion - Phill Harrison wants No More Sky and DayZ on X1

http://n4g.com/news/clickout/1569116

I have two sugestions for him.

1- drop the parity clause so any dev can launch the game on your platforms as fast as he can port from the leading device instead of keeping they all hostages and making a lot of excessions for the games you see are doing too well to ignore.

2-Sign a deal with Sony that neither will sign timed or or permanent exclusivity for 3rd parties games.

But I doubt MS corporate culture would allow for that to happen. So keep throwing money on AAA while Shu throw smiles, stage presence, exposition and some financial compensation on Indies. Possibly can buy 50 indies timed exclusive for less than the money used in TR, TF or DR3.

Well then he's gotta tell a studio to make No More Sky :P

strongly agree with the first suggestion. Shooting yourself in the foot is one thing, and using a machine gun on your foot is another.
If they lift the parity clause, theres plenty of indies on PS4 that will jump to xb1 in no time.

The second I can never see happening. I dont think Sony would sign that either considering they are getting more value out of 60min exclusive gameplay deals than MS are getting out of paying for timed exclusives of entire games. It makes Sony look less villainous but more effective.

That second suggestion is ridiculous.

Or,

Solution 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11, ...

Solution 11 sounds like the best course to me. Solution 12 is just ridiculous.

Looking at recent sales it's already No More Sky and Day Z for Microsoft.

If you demand respect or gratitude for your volunteer work, you're doing volunteering wrong.

Hopefully Microsoft makes it happen and they come over(which I'm sure they will). More people that get to play these games the better I say

I want a lot of things
maybe he should write a blog about it

I know solution 2 wouldn't be done, but that is the only way they won't have to complain about lack of some game dev by 3rd party. But since they are a great adept of the pratice and without it they would have released 2 exclusives so far I don't see they stopping.
And something people don't see to recoginize is that almost all those AAA exclusive deals from MS are money lossing because I'm certain they would buy a lot more if money was earned. I see it as a calculated loss to increase base.
