Forums - Website Topics - Why aren't there any female users on this site anymore?

They are probably repulsed by the stuff some people here say.

And please...  there was nothing offensive about that joke.  And if she was offended by that then she probably gets offended by things like the color red.

I  know her well enough to know she isnt as easily offended as youre making her out to be.  This is the exact kind of behavior that is annoying though.  Do not ridicule her or others because you have a different belief.  All she asked was to cut the sexist jokes down, and whether or not she gave any other examples doesnt matter.  Its against the rules and you KNOW for a fact that sexist jokes on this website is made other than the time Galkai said something.  She shouldnt have to search through 100's of threads to find other examples.  Again, she just asked for you all to be more respectful towards the female members which the community/mods werent.  It really is as simple as that.  Do not blame marucha, do not blame other female members whom i will not name, if that is how they felt then you can not tell them to feel another way.  Its all about a thing called respect which many on this forum lacks.

No.  She asked for Galaki's post to be omitted.  The mods at the time ( I was one of them) agreed that there was nothing wrong with the post.  When we asked for her to show examples of offensive posts she came up with none.  A moderator can't moderate something that they haven't read or isn't brought to thereattention.  And I would love to see you direct me to an instance when the mods weren't respectful to female members because that's a bunch of garbage.  I gave warnings and moderated people for lots of things.  Trolling, flaming, intolerance to religion, Spurge for posting links to mods, and sexism.  Guys like you who attack mods like this with no basis for your claims are a huge reason why I am no longer a mod and left this site for nearly a year.

I'm sure every other user having a cartoon underage girl as their avatar doesn't help.

How else are we supposed to identify the Playstation fans? :p

This is not a troll, I genuinely have noticed PS fans seem to have a distinct anime motif.

Samus' "new" outfits first appeared in Zero Mission and Fusion, so I don't see the problem here! :S

Well, the problem actually goes way back. Sexism has always existed (more or less) in gaming. I can understand why Samus had a bathing suit in the NES version; to make it quite apparent that she in fact was a girl. But that kind of thing isn't needed now, and hasn't been for quite a while. What about DOA then? Boob physics? really? C'mon!! Why no dick physics? Because, sexism

Meh.. This whole Samus incident doesn't seem like such a huge issue to me really, but whatever.. :S

Well, Samus isn't the real problem here. She's actually probably THE best female gaming character there ever was, which is why I think it's so stupid that she's "forced" to wear nothing but a bikini.

I'm on Twitter @DanneSandin!

Furthermore, I think VGChartz should add a "Like"-button.

Gaming culture is certainly punishing female participation. I've seen some opression!

Sarcasm?

Look at my response to him, just a few posts above this one =)

I saw it, but i don't understand the problem here.

Its just an alternative costume you can use, but no one is forcing you to use it.

Games like Lollipop Chainsaw on the other side are much worse and try to cash in on that.

They could do the same for a character like captain falcon, but i doubt anyone wants to see that!

Yes, Samus is a great female character, like I just said in the post above.

The bolded part is the problem we're discussing. They're doing it just to entice people, to fulfill their sex fantasies. And that my friend, is sexism. And gaming is so full of it that girls don't wanna be here and talk gaming to us guys.

Legend has it they walk amongst us but I don't quite believe it.

This. Everyone; read this. I'm actually kinda sick and tired of gaming culture since it's sexistic as fuck, both among gamers and developers. You've seen Samus Arans latest outfit in SMash right? That's what's wrong with the gaming industry as a whole. It's abigger issue than the AAA industry

Oh, come on. Those are old suits designs. If they stuck in her Metroid 1 Bikini, complain then.

And that is a part of the problem. Like I said in my response, I can understand why they had that suit on the NES, because of limited resources of that time. They wanted to make sure that she actually looked like a girl. But is that neseccery nowadays? No. Now we can plainly see if it's a girl or not.

I agree sexism is stupid. But to me, this outfit isn't it. The Bikini one is. Samus to me is hot even up to her Viara suit. So she's gonna be hot no matter what she wears. It's really not gonna change anytime soon. Unless somehow the userbase of gamers go 50/50. Then more bare chested guys would be used to sell games.

Like I've already said, Samus might be THE best female character there ever was, so that makes this all the more stupid; she doesn't NEED to be shown in bikinis, she's awesome as it is.

Sony and Microsoft target male audiences almost exclusively so it's not entirely surprising that it's guys who are more interested in the industry.

Sadly, Nintendo seems to be going down the same path recently. Especially with the Wii U.

There are plenty of women! In fact, i've had like 5 of them private message me, basically begging for the D! They got weird names though.
