well this is confusing. i have a penis. i am a member on that site. ugh... i need to go to a doctor and check things out, make sure once and for all. 


and lets face it, if you made it in there i believe our screening process and standards are pretty friendly XD

i cant believe i come back from an awesome girl time at a bachelorette party to find so many pages of... whatever it is i just read.

if you say something and the other person takes offense you take responsability for it whether it was your intention to offend or not... some women will take offense more easily than others and they should still be respected and not criticized because of it.

i just laugh off most of the stupid and sexist stuff i read here, thats how i'm still here, but i do not condone or believe that this is an ideal or inviting environment for female posters and that they should "learn to roll with it" that is just ridiculous

I dunno. I'm mixed on this. This is part of being on the internet. A lot of things said on VGC and other forums offend me and there's nothing I can do about it. I've learned to roll with it and not let the opinion of a stranger impact my personal life.

While I never want to offend others, I know that offending someone isn't something that should be inherently punished, you just have to work within the organizational rules.

Well, what is a proposed solution to bring in more females without compromising the inherit traits of the site?

Personally I'm totally okay with this sausage fest, but I do agree that we should have an environment that's more accessible to anyone that likes gaming and sales.

Gaming is a male dominated hobby.. Thus, spending large amounts of time posting on a message board ABOUT gaming is even MORE of a male dominated hobby.

You know, I never really bothered with the determining of sex for any user. At times it may be humorous but I honestly don't care. In fact I tend to think anyone with a female picture is female...so there are a lot of females here in my mind.



Before the PS3 everyone was nice to me :(

One thing I noticed from the comments in this thread is that there seems to be a general unawareness of the presence of females here - hence the constant locker-room humour.

Perhaps if females actually showed that they were female on their profiles, there's a chance it might tone itself down naturally without being moderated.
