Forums - Nintendo Discussion - Ubisoft: Wii U Owners Don’t Buy Assassin’s Creed; More Interested in Just Dance

Ubisoft CEO Yves Guillemot took the chance in a recent interview to explain why theWii U won’t be getting the next Assassin’s Creed game, and went on to say what they see Wii U owners are more interested in.

“It’s very simple. What we see is that Nintendo customers don’t buy Assassin’s Creed. Last year, we sold in very small numbers.”

“What we see is that they are very interested in Just Dance, very interested by other kinds of games. So what we are trying to do is to focus more on the types of games they are interested in.”

When asked about the Watch Dogs situation, Yves went on to say the following.

“[Watch Dogs] is coming to Wii U. It will be the only mature game we publish on it.”

Sounds about right.

If you demand respect or gratitude for your volunteer work, you're doing volunteering wrong.

Um, no.

It's not about just dance or other experiences, it's about games they like. ZombiU sold relatively well though maybe not the numbers Ubi was looking for.

Nintendo gamers buy certain types of games, and that may not necessarily mean Just Dance. A great recent example is Shovel Knight. Don't come and tell me that's like Just Dance Mr. Guillemot.

sure is not. But Wii U owners didn't nuy AC and he is right about

I wanted a VERY new AC for Wii U, by the way I'm staying finger sucking! '(

Prediction: Nintendo Switch sells 100 million until the end of 2021

Just make more Rayman games for the Wii U Ubisoft.

AC3 sold around 250k and AC4 sold around 200k...I mean, those numbers obviously aren't making anyone millions, but they should be plenty to at least break even with a port.

i buy AC for Wii U

Perhaps they don't see breaking even/minor return as worth the resources.
