You must have been notified. I've just recently received an email warning me that my account is set on auto renewal, and that they will take money from my card next month.
The mail also had detailed instructions on how to cancel the auto renewal.

So, I think you're out of luck, as you have been warned about the situation. And I believe it also says no refunds on any store purchases.

Maybe you can sell your account if you have no use for it, with all the PS+ games you might even turn a profit...

Hey I never thought of selling it.....Good idea.

Also, I don't recall getting an email. It may have ended up in the junk folder. Something Sony should sympathise with.

Just make sure you remember to remove any personal info/credit card info before if you try to sell it...

I think you are out of luck buddy. No refunds has been their policy from day 1...

Doesn't seem right....Apparently even if I insist that Sony close my account so that there is no way for me to access it ever again they still just keep the money. Microsoft refunded me. What's Sony's deal?

I'd take it up with the credit card company and they should refund you the amount.

I got screwed by auto renew. I genuinely had no idea it would. The first thing I knew about it is when I got an email saying I'd been charged £40!

While I was planning to renew, I wanted to buy a card in the sales cheap somewhere like I did the year before (for £29.99). Gah.

Why wouldnt you close your account before selling your console?

some of this fault is on you too...

It hasn't sold yet.

wow that sucks real bad....sorry about that.

I guess the asshole rep wasnt very friendly and helpful if he knew you were selling your system.

A lot of people don't know about auto renew. It on by default for Sony, not consumers.

actually no...my account is on auto renew but i made the settings that way. they ask for at least 2 notifications before you can confirm for auto renew. I guess he forgot he had it on auto renew. happens sometimes escpecially when a service is a year long.

Huh?  Auto renew is the default setting when you sign up for ps+.  I have payed for it three times now and each time i have to go in an manually turn off the auto renew setting.  It isnt something you have to turn on...

I got a new account for my PS4 because my little sister hijacked my old account along with my PS3. I had to do all my settings again. But...i could be wrong....

Unless there is a difference between an NA account and a UK acount, maybe you guys have a law against default auto renew subscriptions?  It is definitely auto renew by default here though...

Check you consumer protection laws. It may be that even if a company says no refunds Aussie federal law may require a refund if a substantial part of the service is not used. As long as you haven't downloaded any PS+ games post renewal, or bought any games with a PS+ discount post renewal then you may have a case.

Don't take companies at their word on this, because often they just bluff figuring it's not worth your while to dig in to the matter to find out your rights and assert them. We have legislation which requires companies to fix faulty products outside of the warranty period if it is within what is expected to be a reasonable lifespan for a product, so there may be some similar condition on refunding services not used.

Credit card company will not reverse the payment because the payment was not fraudulent or unsolicited. Sony would have the right to sue the credit card company for reversing a legal transaction.

That's really strange that 2 different companies deal with things differently. I found it sort of weird at first that my PS3 games didn't work in my XBox360 I mean what's the deal with that?

In all seriousness tho, when you sign for psn+ you get a pretty damn big message telling you exactly where to go to disable the auto renew (at least on both the psvita and the ps3) not seen how it shows on the ps4 yet but yeah I mean if you didn't bother to read it and clicked next or the little X to get rid of it that is on you for ignoring it, read EULA's they'll save you money.
