Forums - Gaming Discussion - Thoughts on Final Fantasy IX?

soundtrack in this one is unforgettable. replay value is best in the franchise but probably the easiest FF game.

I agree, Final Fantasy IX was easy. Didn't have trouble with most bosses especially later in the game, when I got Vivi's Reflectx2 ability.

One of the best FF games ever IMO. Loved the setting and how vast the world is, so many side-quests to keep the game going for easily 100+ hours!

I really hope that for FF XVI (which is inevitable at this point) takes inspiration from this game! I want a proper world map again and airships that are controllable!!!

FFIX is, in my opinion, the best Final Fantasy to date. The existential theme that encompasses the game was very well done and executed. Vivi was my favorite character, overall. I really loved his character development and how he struggled to find his meaning in life, despite that he was a manufactured prototype weapon.

The game's soundtrack was also among my all time favorites.

Yah, I really liked Vivi as well. Although the ending kinda makes his fate ambigous but when I realized Vivi's fate, it really was heartbreaking.

I really liked the game, but i don´t know if it happened only to me, but i felt a little bored at the last 4 hours or so of the game.

I thought that the last part of the game was interesting not necessarily boring. Although my favorite parts in the game were Disc 1 and 2, I felt it dragged a little in Disc 3.

I'm gonna assume, FFVIII is your favorite?

Aside from a few major problems, I rather liked FFVIII as well.

It's my personal favourite Final Fantasy game, mostly because every single character was unique and likeable in their own way, and it's one of the few FF games made after 7 that's had a genuine sense of humour to it.

IX is really great. The world and the Characters did it for me. loved every second

Loved the game. Easily the best Final Fantasy imo, with great characters and an awesome plot. The romance wasn't as in-your-face as FFVIII and VII but was still there, which was perfect. The MC wasn't an emo depressed character, he was a fun-loving guy, which was a great change of pace. The graphics were also a step above both FFVIII and VII.
