Forums - Nintendo Discussion - Zelda U: it might actually support motion controls!

Skyward Sword was praised by many, but also criticized for having motion controls.

Personally I love the motion controls and believe that all Zelda games should continue this way. Just an opinion!

Anyways, GameXplain released another Zelda U trailer analysis.

As pointed out by some of his viewers, Link is actually right handed since he hold the arrow with his right hand and bow with his left. Another thing to keep in mind, he keeps his sword on the right side of his horse.

Link is only right handed in Twilight princess and Skyward Sword, both of which had motion controls, so could this game support motion controls?

I am sayin support motion controls cuz i want it to be optional for everyone to enjoy.

I'm fine with motiont controls as long as It's optional. I don't want to be forced to use motion controls on any console other than the original Wii.

Edit: Also, I just finished watching that GameXplain video! Like 30 seconds before I got to this thread!

Likely a use of the gyro. I would love for it to support motion controls though. That was actually my favorite part of skyward sword. They could just make it less of a focus in the game and much more subtle. I'd rather have IR for aiming though.

I think there will be motion controls, but they won't be as extensively utilized as in Skyward Sword. They will probably use motion controls for the bow and arrow, since it would be perfect to use on the Gamepad. Maybe for other items that require any type of aiming. We saw this implemented in the Wind Waker HD controls. You could use the Gamepad's motion controls to aim certain items. I think this will continue with Zelda U.

It would be silly of them to add motion controls, aside from Gamepad gyro, since the WiiMotionPlus requirement for Skyward Sword severely hampered that game's sales. Making someone have a Wii remote, even though the Wii was very popular, would put an unnecessary limit on sales.

I wouldn't mind having the option, but I can't imagine actually using them. The motion controls ruined Skyward Sword for me.

I'm perfectly OK with motion controls as long as they are not shoved down my throat!

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!

WORST PART of Skyward Sword and getting rid of them with otherwise modern controls is what made Wind Waker HD my favorite Zelda of all time. They should be used for aiming and THAT'S IT

The reason Link is right handed is because the game will probably optionally allow Wiimote controls - To the extent of Twilight Princess Wii, most likely.

This isn't an amazing discovery or hard to figure out, as Nintendo can use Wiimote controls with any Zelda game. It doesn't have to mean it's to the Skyward Sword level where it defined the game.
