Forums - Gaming Discussion - CD Projekt RED Comments on Xbox One Exclusive Collector’s Edition Items Following Heated Response from Consumers

i personally think what CD projeck is doing is great. maybe i just don't value physical swag enough but delivering the same game (the core purchase) and giving xbox physical swag for their support is awesome. i would LOVE it if every deal stayed away from exclusive DLC and instead offered exclusive swag.

If it was sony getting exclusive stuff, people would be fine with it lol

For what? Most people think the games are great and fun, companies shouldn't bend over backwards just to please the (very small) minority that absolutely must have 1080p/60fps and all the exclusive content on their platform.

Or gamers shouldn't bend over backwards accepting whatever shady greedy deals are made. We are the costumers so yes the companies should bend over backwards.

So not getting 1080p/60fps is is a shady deal? Not having some physical goodies are a shady deal?

Sony/Microsoft pay companies to give them exclusive content in exchange for cash. It allows them to differentiate their product. Sony did it with Destiny, and Microsoft did it with Witcher 3. In this case, it was just a piece of cloth and a deck of cards for $150.

It's the way the entire industry works, and the way it will continue to work.

I am talking about your first post

They shouldn't do that btw, and consumers should not support it either. Before you ask i did not get WD and will not get Destiny. It's just as bad when Sony does it

I know, and that's why I replied how I did.

Microsoft/Sony are bigger consumers to the publishers than you or I will ever be. Companies providing them exclusive content is something that is pretty much to be expected at this point, and not something that should ruin the fun of a game. If a game is exactly the same, with just a few physical goodies or a map or two mixed in for a different version, why completely boycott it? You still will get tons of enjoyment out of it. Ditto for the resolution and frame rate. If a game looks great in 900p/30fps and plays perfectly, and is fun to boot, why skip out on it just because i looks just the slightest bit worse than a 1080p/60fps version?

Meh, it's not a big deal but they probably shouldn't have said there will be parity among consoles. While the game will still have it obviously, people will latch onto anything if they can use it as ammo to critique someone.

"exactly the same" depends on specific situations. Sometimes it is, sometimes it isn't. Depends on what is exclusive and for how long. Paying the same for less is not being treated correctly as a consumer

as for res and framerate my position is the same it has always been, i will play whichever version is the best and the others don't matter. no reason to settle for less.

How are people pissed about this. They are literally being up front about this. It's a business deal, and they'll be one for PS4 owners announced later. This is how the business works. Considering how inoffensive this is compared to other exclusive content deals, no one should be up in arms about this. No one threw a fit with Watch_Dogs's exclusive PS4 content, or Destiny's exclusive PS4 content. But now it's Xbox, the "anti consumer console" getting it. Now it's bad? Come off it. The PS4 has more people to complain, so more people are complaining. That's all this is. At least you're actually getting the game.

No two versions of the game will be exactly the same. If you are going to skip out on a game just because another platform has some minor exclusive content for it, it'll be your loss every single time. "Paying the same for less" isn't exactly what's going on. You're paying the same for the same game, but the other platform has a few freebies thrown in to sweeten the deal. And generally, those freebies aren't worth anything, period. Getting some costumes or a cloth or a small map is not worth paying any more or any less.

To each his own though. I just play games because they are fun, it's hard to enjoy things when you're so caught up in whether or not someone has a version just ever so slightly better than yours.

Better = more fun. Simple.

I have a strong feeling that some of these "gamers" are the same ones who sent rape and death threats to the Tomb Raider voice actress. Stop being entitled pieces of sh*t. This game has never even been on PlayStation. You get full parity for in-game content, (unlike all these games with a marketing contract) and you have people complaining about a piece of cloth and some cards? Every time gamers move up in the world with something like Extra Life its the guys like this who bring gamers right back into the bad light with the media. I really wonder how people from the outside view us as a whole when they see endless whining about bullshit that 95% of you weren't even thinking about buying anyways.
