Well, he's kinda right about the franchises they let die...
But yeah, the rest of his points... meh.

Parasite Eve had 3rd Birthday in 2010 which didnt break 500k. The series before had stopped after its drop from 1 to 2 and the reboot failed.
Brave Fencer Musashi had 1 game on the PS1. Does that really count as an extremely loved franchise??
Vagrant Story again 1 game back on the PS1 and this one sold worse than BFM, couldnt even break 1m
FFT... ok maybe that deserves some love but in 07 they released 2 games in the series (New game on DS and a remake on PSP) and neither sold amazingly well. Combined they didnt even sell better than the GBA FFT.
Front Mission. I admit I know little about this franchise however sales of the whole series show it isnt terribley popular and Front Mission Evolved (what I will pressume is the reboot) didnt even crack 500k, not really enough to say they should continue with a sequel.
Dragon Quest... DQIX, DQX. Really what more do I need to say, they even hinted at seeing DQXI soon (TGS PLEEEAAASSSSSSE!!!!)
Valkyrie Profile sold 800k in 99. In 06 we had VP2 and a PSP game which sold 470k and 340k respectively. We then got a DS game in 08 which sold 410k. I think its fair to say that the franchise can be stopped there.
Star Ocean... who knows. This one has a weird release schedule. Maybe we wil see a new SO for PS4/XBO, after all The Last Hope sold well.
Chrono series... Heres what made Chrono Trigger so great and popular.
Yuji Horii-Creator of Dragon Quest
Akihiko Matsui-Battle Designer behind FFIV, FFV and now FFXI and FFXIV:ARR
Yoshinori Kitase-Director of FFVI and now FFVII, FFVIII, FFX and now Producer of most FF games
Takashi Tokita-Director of Parasite Eve.
Hironobu Sakaguchi-Creator of Final Fantasy
Akira Toriyama-Creator of Dragon Ball and Character Designer for Dragon Quest
Nobuo Uematsu- Composer of most Final Fantasy games and much more. Dosent get much better than this guy.
You cant just put a team like that together right now.
