Forums - Sony Discussion - Don't Expect Too Many More Remasters from Sony

Remastering the first 3 Uncharted games (and probably Golden Abyss) "make sense" because there are PS4 owners who didn't play the Uncharted games and with the 4th coming soon it would make sense for people to catch up.

God of War 3 would make sense if they a 4th one which continues after the 3rd one.

Ratcher and Clank is getting a soft reboot to tie in with the movie, so I can expect that same will happen to Sly when his movie comes out.

A Heavy Rain remaster would be great but can't see any reason for it to be in PS4.

Uncharted Collection, Beyond Two Souls, Puppeteer remasters please!

So it is happening...PS4 preorder.

Greatness Awaits!

They'll have the PS3 games on PS Now so eventually there won't be as much need for remasters, but I still think they will / should do some more.

My 8th gen collection

Scale back on remasters?
But they've only made one so far...

Aren't those just cross-gen ports, same as Madden or CoD?

Cross-gen suggests that the game was in development for both generations at the same time. For Flower, released over five years ago, this is obviously not the case.

Anyway I don't see how it matters. But since Journey (and I think Flower?) support cross-buy with the PS3 version, you could be right. Not that there was anything preventing Sony from supporting cross-buy with TLOUR other than the piles of money they would have been rejecting.

You are correct, cross-buy was what made me consider it a port, since in my book it's an admission that it's the exact same game.

But other than that, I don't know much about those two games.

I'm pretty sure they were both 720 on PS3 and 1080 on PS4, but don't quote me on that.

Funny, they could've just ported the Flow/Flower/Journey collection.

I wouldn't take resolution into consideration, because even same day releases have that difference due to last-gen's technical limitations.
