Taliban clearly
The Taliban directly attacking America is the ultimate casus belli. When 2,977 citizens are killed and over 6,000 injured, in an unprovoked act, you're in the right no matter what you do.

I don't support or like the taliban or Al-Qaeda and targetting civilians is one of the worst war crimes, but you can hardly call it unprovoked. That situation was a direct result of American involvement in afghanistan and Iraq.
The taliban were horrible people that deserved to be killed. Even after a big expensive war, those people haven't been eliminated and have just moved next door to Pakistan.
9/11 is a inside job. We invade Iraq to stop them from turning the petrodollar into a petroeuro.

Except it wasn't the Taliban. Here are some more convenient reasons for continuing the war

ever heard of the Iranian Revolution? The US and the middle east have been hatin' for a long time now
No one is more in the wrong as both sides have committed atrocities
Taliban was established, armed, trained and financed by CIA to fight USSR in Afganistan. So Taliban and USA its like a 2-headed dragon with its heads biting each other.
