The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt is a gorgeous looking game and CD Projekt are trying to deliver the same experience across the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. Despite their similarities, the PS4 and Xbox One do have some decidedly unique hardware features. How will CD Projek be taking advantage of the PS4′s unified GDDR5 memory architecture and whether they will be developing specific graphical features which they might have found to be possible only on the PS4?

“We always want to provide the best possible experience to all our gamers regardless of the platform and so we are not aiming to develop special graphical features for any of them,” Balazs Torok, Lead Engine Programmer said to GamingBolt.

And regarding the kind of anti-aliasing technology they will use for PS4 and Xbox One versions, Balazs stated that they won’t be using hardware based MSAA. “We are still exploring some options regarding anti-aliasing but we are sure that it will be some kind of screen space anti-aliasing solution and not hardware MSAA,” he said.

Good thing i'll be playing it on PC

Honestly, the PC version is the definitive game, so it's understandable that they aren't giving as much attention to optimizing for the consoles. It's a PC game first and foremost, a console game second.

I don't see the problem here. As people say, this is a PC game first, console second.



Why does it make no sense? They develop all graphical features for the PC (lead version) and the consoles get what they can run of that version (PS4 more than X1). Why should they develop specific features for consoles?

I will be getting PS4 version. As long as the game plays with smooth frame rate I am happy. Plus I know despite parity issue PS4 version will perform better.

Witcher has always been a PC title first and a console title second. Most of the audience on the Witcher series is on PC so it makes sense that they are putting less effort in the console version
