I had the same spending spree as you. Began with the NES Remix 1+2 discount, that led to the VC NES Remix sales; and to top it off we have this week the SMB sale with a continuation next week.

My NES VC collection was scarce before and now I got a few classics

Yeah because 4.99 is so expensive for NES VC games on a FREE online service, when they were 29.99 at the point of release in the 80's.

At the time these games launched every PC in the world combined didn't add up to that found inside a single wii-u so trying to suggest that 512kb of game data should still hold the same value it did 30 years ago in the same universe you can buy MGS4 for around 20euros which has more than 100,000 times the information. Putting it in line value wise it should cost .0002 cent today for 512kb of game.

When you also talk about the Nintendo online service being "FREE" you do know that to buy games from either XBLA or PSN is obviously not behind the paywalls that are PSN+ and XBL-G what company would ever stop people buying games on their service?

Why not check me out on youtube and help me on the way to 2k subs over at www.youtube.com/stormcloudlive

It's getting better, but it's still absolutely terrible in Europe. Games that have been out for more than a year that still cost the same they did at release. And the pathetic sales, that are too far between and rarely offer significant discounts. Finally there's the fact that 99% of gba and ds games don't exist in the eshop, just because nintendo is still stuck in their old ways and are always 5 years behind the competition in this kind of things, sigh...

This reminds me, Nintendo really hasn't done any "Players' Choice" discounts in a timely manner (8 to 12 months after release) on their more popular games since I think either the GC or Wii era.

Atlus does eShop right. Same day release, with demo, manuals and save-data backup. Topping all that is the occasional sales that will see titles like SMT IV or EO IV or Code of Princess at $15.

Nintendo is learning from Atlus.

Sadly the Atlus sales never come to PAL....

Especially sad since Code of Princess is digital only here.

Isn't it NISA that does the publishing over in PAL regions?

Before Atlus games were published by various companies, but yeah lately it is NISA. There is now a NISA Europe online store... but the prices are quite a bit overwhelming.

Such games like Code of Princess never got a physical release and MANY Atlus DS games never came to PAL (thank goodness for region free DS though).

And we are still yet to get SMT 4.

Sadly they never truly learn any lessons, but I like the eshop on WII U much more than the lame Wii eshop. I just wonder why we are still spending so much for these old games? Earthbound....fine, it is rare and people have been waiting for years, but Mario should be 99 cents along with many others.

Earthbound was a title that released on the eshop for higher than other SNES games which really annoyed me. But luckily that too was on sale a month ago, so I finally bought it.

Yeah the prices should be relative to PSN classic prices of the same gen.

Don't worry, those will come without a doubt! The real question is if GameCube games are going to come out for the WiiU VC!
