Forums - Nintendo Discussion - Ubisoft Clarifies Reasoning For The Crew Skipping Wii U

Honestly, at this point, I'd respect the developers more if they just said, "Because we don't want to."

The sad part is that most developers don't have the damn balls to say that!

It's okay. With games like DriveClub and Project C.A.R.S, Playstation will have plenty of racers to go around. At least it's still coming to the PS4. Now had Ubisoft made some excuse as to why THAT version wasn't coming, then we can chalk it up to MS. LOL

funny, that you only name games that also skip the ps3, ps3 will have no racer this holiday

Pretty obvious really. It wouldn't sell much so no point wasting time on it.

keep believing it.

TBH  Ubisoft is not lying. Why?

Because 360 is in fact the more similar last gen device. PS3 is completely different.  WiiU is part of the same gen as PS4 and X1 so by saying " The Crew is originally built for the new generation of consoles so when we made the decision to port it to the previous generation of consoles, we decided to focus solely on the platform closest to the new-gen's technical infrastructure, which is the Xbox 360."

Not making it for WiiU makes perfect sense since its current gen not last gen.

Only on platforms with paid online and PC where you can't sell used games. Coincidence?

Well, I don't care because the game doesn't seem to interesting. I was disappointed that Valiant Hearts wasn't on Wii U.

I have Android... and a more than capable PC, but there are some games that I prefer on consoles (PC is in the office).

Nintendo's lack of focus in the online gaming department, is the SOLE reason that most devs skip their console.

DLC, ADD ON CONTENT, if released on the Wii-U, it will be a total waste.

Get your act together Nintendo.

And you base this claim on your extensive experience with Nintendo's online, right?

Never mind that Nintendo's online has all of the essential features (stuff like cross-game chat are secondary features at best). Never mind that DLC (also known as add-on content, not sure why you added that like it was a second type of thing) is doing fine on Wii U when it actually does get released.

Nintendo themselves show little to no interest in making their inhouse 1st part games online heavy focused, so why should any other developer care.

Ninendo is behind the curve on online gaming big time. Until this changes, you will see little effort from developers to port their games to their systems.

This, quite literally, has absolutely nothing to do with remotely anything talked about in the post.

PR talk most times are all smoke and mirrors..................

I'm a gamer, I know better than to take WHAT THEY SAY, as to what they actually MEAN.
