Forums - Sony Discussion - Yoshida- Some Game Announcements Cut From Gamescom PS4 Getting Big Focus At TGS

Famitsu has published a new interview with Sony Worldwide Studios president Shuhei Yoshida. While the entire discussion is in Japanese, NeoGAF’s “zeromcd73″ translated some of the more interesting tidbits.

First, according to Yoshida, some new game announcements planned for Gamescom were cut from Sony’s presentation. This was at least partially because the company decided to show new trailers for The Order: 1886 and Bloodborne.

Sony will next have an opportunity to show new content at the Tokyo Game Show next month. And apparently, there will be quite a lot there.

Famitsu’s interview led to other points concerning Japan as well. Yoshida mentioned that Sony will be working with other publishers to help increase the userbase in the territory, and he believes Project Morpheus will have content that will be very appealing to the Japanese audience.

I agree on the VR front, there has been a hell of a lot of TV coverage on Oculus Rift here in japan lately, as a result of that there's quite a buzz with gamers about mmorpg / rpg / simulators using the tech in future japanese-centric games.

That would be amazing if Sony can bring it at the Tokyo Game Show after a strong Gamescon and E3. The exclusives are starting to pile up though I still wouldn't mind hearing more from some of their first party studios. Either way Sony's momentum seems to keep building 2015 could be big if they play their cards right...

Gamescom + TGS > E3. Just as planed

THats how it should be every year

Predictions for end of 2014 HW sales:

 PS4: 17m   XB1: 10m    WiiU: 10m   Vita: 10m

Sony always has to make cuts. Quit being so awesome! I loved the games they showed at Gamescom even though they werent mostly AAA.

Good news! With how PS4 sales are in Japan, I can see why they would hold as many titles as possible to help stimulate sales and show more support to their home country.

Excited to see some new JRPGs! Just one month to go.

There really needs to be some sort of Japanese focus at TGS. It's incredibly weak currently,
