because he is awesome.

i love this man for his work on hellboy alone.  he creates such great worlds, imo.

HIs IMDB further cements my point about him mostly making "popcorn flicks." He didnt create Hellboy, though he did play a part in writing both movies stories and screenplays. The world of Hellboy was created by several other people in the 10 years prior to the film.

christopher nolan didn't create batman but he did create the best onscreen representation of batman that has ever been created.  if you want to downplay guillermo just because he wasn't the exclusive creator hellboy or because he has made movies like pacific rim in addition to some of the best horror films ever that is your loss.   guillermo is very talented and i'm excited for any project he is involved in.

no he didnt, the nolan batmans are just lame and the cast is totaly misscasted.

burton did so much better in every possible way, the girls are more sexy, batman is more badass and it has a so much better joker, jack Nicholson was just brillian.

I actually agree.  Nolan's Batmen are overrated especially the roles of Christian Bale and Heath Ledger (let's be honest he got WAAAAAAY too much recognition due to his death).  TDK is great but it doesn't do nearly the justice to the property that Burton or the Arkham games have.  Sure it's a fun crime drama but the action scenes in Batman Begins are HORRIBLY filmed (extreme closeups and I don't know what the hell is going on then all the badguys are on the ground) and Rises has too many plotholes to mention.  Also how the hell did Joker know exactly how long it would take him to get captured, get interrogated, get the cop to beat him up, and for Batman to figure out when he was going?  Way too much suspension of disbelief for a movie that claims to be the "realistic" take on superheroes.  Also both Batman vs. Bane fights were just I punch you in the head you punch me instead of any cool moves or fighting style which was just boring and stupid.  Now I kinda enjoy them but I enjoy watching the Arkham cutscenes way more.

Hmm pretty much just looks like OP has a thing against del toro, Most others disagree, but he feels if you do disagree, you shouldnt be posting.

this thread deserves a +1

No one anwsering me. Why should I be excited? I already named his horror movie making career ended in 1997 and has mostly made big budget action films in the last 15 odd years. What do people anwser?...just watch that movie he made almost 20 years ago. On top of that he is mostly a director and a screenplay writer, which are 2 talents that I dont see helping in game development. They could sign Nascar legend Dale Earnheart Jr to be associated with the game cause afterall hes really good at driving cars, but again I dont see how that transfers to game development.

Getting an XBOX One for me is like being in a bad relationship but staying together because we have kids. XBone we have 20000+ achievement points, 2+ years of XBL Gold and 20000+ MS points. I think its best we stay together if only for the MS points.

Nintendo Treehouse is what happens when a publisher is confident and proud of its games and doesn't need to show CGI lies for five minutes.

Do you not feel how sexily that name rolls of the tongue? Guillermo Del Toro...whew, open a window. That there is enough for me :P

Thanks jlmurph!

i just hope it wont be a "candy in the eye" kind of movie... like pacific rim... and no i wasn't talking about charlie hunnam's abs....

i hope it would be more psychological and focuses on the fear of the unknown.....

Well, if the final game use the same kind of atmosphere as P.T., we're in for a ride.

Oh come on, you just ignore the answers...

He's talented at horror, that's it. Talent just doesn't go for vacations once in a while. Also, who said he's a developper ? He's involved in the making, but he won't develop it, seriously...

You know, AAA games ALL have directors, screenplay writers, etc... It's almost like you're acting ignorant on purpose. For example, TLOU wouldn't have been the masterpiece it is if Druckmann didn't direct it.

wow +1 again.    Youve been answered numerous times for why others are excited, and its clear you obviously have something against him and some of his work. Other people do like his work and a heck of alot are very excited.  You dont need to be excited about every game,  I have zero interest in some games that other people would be day zero.   its really interesting why you want to put so much effort to try and convince people they shouldnt be excited about a game they like.  all this does bring to light a very big question.  What did he do to you to get all this hate.?

+1 to this. But well, if he's not interested, he's not interested, there's nothing to do about that... He only has to admit it.

This should be a Project Morpheus game.

No, I don't think so. Not Silent Hill. I'm not sure it would be a plus for such a kind of game.

Silent Hill is too different from the "average" horror game. It would've been nice for Outlast though.
