Forums - Movies & TV - What was your favorite Robin Williams performance?

By now I'm guessing you all know the tragic news about Robin Williams' death. I thought we could ease our sadness by reminiscing about the performances that made him such a beloved actor.

For me, Mrs. Doubtfire will always remain my favorite performance of his. I was 13 when the movie came out, it was such a great mix between histerically funny scenes and real heart, I must have watched it over 30 times. There's so many great scenes in that movie but if I had to name a favorite I'd go with the montage to Aerosmith's Dude (Looks Like A Lady). I actually thought for the longest time they were saying "Do it like a lady". Also, special mentions to Mrs. Doubtfire throwing the lime on the back of Stewart's (Pierce Brosnan) head.

Getting an XBOX One for me is like being in a bad relationship but staying together because we have kids. XBone we have 20000+ achievement points, 2+ years of XBL Gold and 20000+ MS points. I think its best we stay together if only for the MS points.

Nintendo Treehouse is what happens when a publisher is confident and proud of its games and doesn't need to show CGI lies for five minutes.

Mrs. Doubtfire was my favorite too.

Mrs. Doubtfire was one of my favourite movies as a kid besides Blues Brothers and Ghostbusters.

If I think about it I love so many of his performances, for me though one it's got to be Bicentennial Man. The film never really hit it off with critics, but I loved Williams in it and thought he did enough to make the film memorable and good, in my eyes at least.

Of course his performance in Good Will Hunting is as good as it gets as well, and Hook and Mrs Doubtfire were childhood favourites and Path Adams, again on the strength of his performance alone, is another personal favourite of mine.

It’s very hard to choose but I’m going with Good Morning Vietnam, since it was the first movie I him in.

Hook, Jumanji and Good Will Hunting.

Good Morning Vietnam

“It appeared that there had even been demonstrations to thank Big Brother for raising the chocolate ration to twenty grams a week. And only yesterday, he reflected, it had been announced that the ration was to be reduced to twenty grams a week. Was it possible that they could swallow that, after only twenty-four hours? Yes, they swallowed it.”

- George Orwell, ‘1984’

Man, he did so many great performances! Some of my favorites are Mrs Doubtfire, Genie in Aladdin, Peter Pan in Hook, Good Will hunting and Good Morning Vietnam. But the best works he ever did might have been his stand ups. Hilarious!!
