I don't understand your reasoning. At all.

They haven't blatantly copied competitions IPs yet.
Xbox Live has been a thing since 2002/3(?).

Xbox=a result of copying Playstation's mainstream success. Zune=a result of copying iPod's mainstream success. Windos phone=a result of the iPhone's mainstream success. Xbox music=a result of copying Spotify's mainstream success. Windows 8/Suface=a result of copying iPad's mainstream success. Xbox Live=a result of the Seganet (http://kotaku.com/5859934/the-xbox-was-as-close-as-we-got-to-a-dreamcast-2).

As an artist, I pride myself on original ideas. If I see something that works, I scratch it off my list of things I can and will do. I don't think to myself "hmmm, that works, I'll copy it and make bank" because there is nothing special about that. Money is what MS worships and money ALONE. There is no sense of vision, no attempt to make a positive impact on the world...it's all money.

Urgh, just urgh, I have hardly ever read a post that came off quite as pretentious and at the same time uninformed as this one. *shudders*

I love xbox and windows :D

Sure I like most of their products, except maybe Surface.

I don't mind Microsoft. If anything, I respect them more than I do any other console manufacturer currently, since they are putting out good PR right now, unlike some of the the other manufacturers.

I game on a Windows PC, and I had a 360 (which, granted, I never used too much). If Microsoft keeps up with the great consumer service, I might pick up a One when the Sunset Overdrive bundle comes out.

Xbox One - PS4 - Wii U - PC

So how do you feel about Sony copying Nintendo's mainstream console success, or Xbox live's mainstream success with PSN? Or how about Sony's Xperia phones copying iPhone/Galaxy?

Just curious if you dislike Sony as much as MS since they behave very similarly.....according to you.

Also, I see you've already backed away from your claim that MS copies people's ideas and then releases cheaper, inferior versions. That didn't take long.

I feel exactly the same way about anything. But it's not all black and white (I'm not a black and white kind of thinker). The original PS was more or less like the Wii in that it attempted to grab a new market. It brought gaming into the mainstream and popularized "M" titles. So while Nintendo made Sony's entry possible, Sony didn't just make a standard console and copy Nintendo. They took something old and evloved it in an original way.

On the whole, Sony has slightly more original than MS, though both pale in comparison with Nintendo imo because Nintendo started the entire modern industry. When the NES launched, it was launching without a market to sell to (market crash in '83). They actually had to CREATE the damned thing all over again and figure out ways to get people to buy their products. They created entire genres for fucks sake.

As far as MS releasing inferior products, I absolutely didn't back down. Zune=inferior iPod. Windows phone=inferior iPhone/Android. Windows=inferior OS. Xbox Music=inferior Spotify. Xbox One(original concept)=inferior Steam machine. Suface=inferior consumer tablet. Cortana=inferior Siri.

It's almost all one cheap rip off after another. Their mindset it "find popular market, make cheap copy of it and profit." It's pathetic imo.

Of course not, silly

Xbone... the new "N" word   Apparently I troll MS now | Evidence | Evidence

Lulz, I like the Sony copying Nintendo compairson, however, Nintendo partnered with Sony to develope a CD rom based Nintendo console.  When Nintendo decided to stick with the cart technology they really opened the door for Sony to run with tech that they designed for a third party.  Developers were ready for more than Nintendo was offering and Sony stepped in, moving the same direction as Sega and thankfully allowing developers to shape the direction of gaming.  I really enjoyed the more mature content that the Playstation and the Saturn brought to the market.  As far as PSN or Xbox live?  I enjoy PSN but neither service is exactly what I want.

-end of line-

Everything outside of gaming? Sure.
The Xbox Brand? Not so much.

"I think it will be the HDS"-Me in regards to Nintendo's next handheld.

I like Xbox but don't really like Microsoft. They are just another huge company that's greedy for money. I do like Bill Gates though.

it was like a sizable part of MS died when Bill Gates stepped down, huh?

Systems Owned: PS1, PS2, PS3,PS4, Wii, WiiU, xbox, xbox 360, xbox one

Nof a big fan of the company as a whole but I do like the Xbox brand which provided some much needed competition over the past decade in an industry that would otherwise be Nintendo Vs Sony, which would get very boring very quickly.

You know I was always wondering why no one ever used the dollar sign for $ony, but then I realized they have no money so it would be pointless.
