Forums - Gaming Discussion - A cut to 299 might not help X1 much

The xbox one s seems to be selling well. Time will tell.

$299?! We've hit $249 and it's not looking to stop. This train just keeps going.

So sales of Xone are strong all the time, their is no need to cut the price, there are more Xone Gold members (On XOne)then ps plus subscribers with half of the hardware base! I dont see a problem there, the servers are full of playing people with big communitys in Forza Motorsport/Horizon, Halo 5/MC Collection and the Gears Games.

I agree with you that sales of XB1S are strong and they don't need to cut the price further but where on Earth do you have those Gold sub numbers from?

Last confirmed number of XBL Gold subscribers is 17 mill and that was during the holidays (subs peak during holidays) in 2014 where Xbox 360 was still the dominant online console in the US and UK.

Since then PS4 has come a long way (regarding marketshare in US and UK) and according to latest numbers we have:

PlayStation Plus subscribers (paid): 20.8 mill
PlayStation Network MAU (paid + free): 60+ mill
PlayStation Network accounts (free): ?

Xbox Live Gold subscribers (paid): 17 mill
Xbox Live MAU (paid + free): 48 mill
Xbox Live accounts (free): ?

Do you have a link supporting your statement?

So they only said in % from time to time where we ve 21.5 million XBL Gold subscribers on XOne against 20 million PSPlus subscribers on Ps4 and Ps3 combined, so more people ar playing online on Xone then on Ps4

http://www.windowscentral.com/xbox-live-now-boasts-48-million-active-users-39-million-last-quarter

Thease Numbers ar from january............ and on another news i heard that 20 million were from win 10 in 4 months!

so we have 28 million on XOne and 360 from jan again with a 30% incraese to e3 against 20.8 on ps4 and Ps3 combined

I'll try again.

I'm not saying you're wrong and I want to believe you. I'm just interested in getting the link to the source of that number.

Edit: You've edited in a link and that's always good but the source is just confirming the 48 mill paid and free monthly active Xbox users (on Xbox One, Xbox 360 and Xbox for Windows). I posted those numbers in my first post. I can try to bold it for you to avoid further confusion.

No it won't help at all.

Nintendo Switch Friend Code: SW-5643-2927-1984

Animal Crossing NH Dream Address: DA-1078-9916-3261

Quite the bump. Though, last month showed the average price had to be $100 cheaper than the PS4 for it to outsell it by 10K IN THE US. WW it still got stomped by the PS4. This NPD will be good for the XBO, but WW will still be the same story. And once the PS4 Slim launches, especially if it's $249, I think it's over.

I dont find it yet but they told a e3 that they got 30% more gold subscribers than on january

so 30% from 17 million your numbers not wrong they are only old.

You what? You're implying the Gold Subscription ratio is almost 100% for Xbox One users... :|

I don't have figures for current Gold Subscribers but I would expect that PS+ has overtaken it.
