News

Okay, so today we are not having any movements, but I just discovered a thing thanks to a friend.

Ever since the PSN got it's Brazil version, the games were few and the prices diferences were not aligned with the Dolar value compared to Real (our money).
So I kinda didn't even accessed the PSN BR, always the US version to see the games and prices, even not having a International Credit Card, just to see them.
LoD was a game that came to PSN Japan some years ago (2010 if I'm not wrong), and ended up reaching the PSN US in 2012.
As far as I know since then LoD didn't came to another PSN (maybe some other Asian one, but no Western PSN based in what I know).

But today a friend just told me:
Hey Bra, I just bought LoD, the game you talk so much about (yep I talk about it a lot, what a surprise xD).
I know he doesn't have a PS1, and his PS2 is broken, so it had to be the PSN version to his PS3 as it's not the Original fat version, and he doesn't have a account into the PSN US either, nor a International Credit Card, so I asked him how did he did it, and he told me: via the PSN BR.
... I went running to my PS3 and there it was, available at the PSN BR. It's prices at R$ 12,99 (US$ 5,67), so it's even cheaper than the PSN US version!

So okay okay, I just bought it and I'm downloading it right now and I wanted to share it with you guys, and ask you if it's available in any other PSN across the globe (except for the JP and US), specially the EU countries, that I see so many people asking for this game to be available there so they can buy it.

The game is said to be available at the PSN BR since 11/07/2014 (June 11, 2014). Exactly 2 months ago.

The Legend of Dragoon Movement

Hello guys, I'm starting a thread here to inform you about a movement that's going on made by fans to say Sony we want another The Legend of Dragoon, be it a Sequel or a Remake (and possible a Prequel).

So first of all, if the game don't interest you please avoid this thread or refrain to be harsh with people who like it even if you don't, ok? Let's all be nice :D

So let's go with the thread.

Some weeks ago a group of fans who share a deep love for this game started moving to try to take LoD back from the limbo and make clear to Sony that we want it back, and we don't want to wait forever, we want it now!

A thread about a part of this movement was already created here by the user deskpro2k3, where he presented you a link to join a online petition made as part of this movement, here is his thread: http://gamrconnect.vgchartz.com/thread.php?id=187860&page=1 (I will post the link to the petition here too).

Now we are doing acts almost every day to this to come to Sony eyes until we get a response, a positive one. So I'll post some links here to you to inform yourself better and join us if you want too :D

I'll try to update this thread in a regular basis within the movement acts, but whatever you see somewhere that can be added here you can leave a comment here with a link or something and I will add it to the OP to help everyone who enter this thread to see it too.

Kinda strange it did that bad in Japan.. with its super expensive budget at the time.. even more strange it did so well in the West. Were there just better jrpgs out there in Japan at the time and not with us in the West?

Face the future.. Gamecenter ID: nikkom_nl (oh no he didn't!!)

Even LoD being a JRPG, it had much more a Western feel than a Japanase to be honest, the game feels more like European medieval age than anything else.
So it may be one of the reasons LoD did better in the West than there, also, Japan already had loads and loads of RPG's in that time and not all of them did their way here to us, so we definitely had less to play in that area than Japan, so the big titles were more likely to pull on our eyes.

Anyway, LoD deserved a lot better than what it did, and that's probably the main reason Sony did nothing more with it. But it's almost 15 years old now, people had more time to look at it in the recent times with the lack of big RPG's coming and now the game have actually quite a big following fanbase, they should try it again, at least with a Remake. I mean, when they did release it at US PSN it was a hit, it topped the likes of FF, RE and CB for some relevant time, it's undoubtly worth another try.

LoD is actually one of a few games I think would fit better on the Wii U than on the PS4. Very few games scream out that they need motion controls. Nintendo would actually make a really good Legend of Dragoon.

But still, if you won't make a game, sell it to somebody who will.

But the Japanese love medieval Europe stuff, don't they?

I disagree, but you have a point too.
LoD as a big RPG wouldn't fit in Nintendo lack of hardware power at all and public, just like Final Fantasy don't do it since it's sixth installment, and Sony have motion controls as well, PS eye and PS move could fit LoD too (even as I think they should stick with regular controls).
RPG's fits Sony the best IMO, and Nintendo tend to avoid realism and story-telling in favor of gameplay mechanics, and even LoD addition system could being goodly improved by it, I think it's something Sony could also do too.
Well, if Sony really doesn't plan to do anything with it at all they should indeed sell it to someone who are willing to do, and not keeping it to itself in limbo.

I'm all over this like white on rice. We need more LoD.

Considering the number of their fantasy settings which are based on medieval Europe I would say so.

LOL, he sure is popular with the girls xD

Also yeah, LoD should turn into a franchise at least! But I would be happy enough with a 1080p Remake in the PS4.
They can throw in my face their more expensive complete definitive ultra freaking collector's edition the day they announce it.
