1tb would probably only cost Sony about $10-$15 extra so i think it would be a good move. The marketing value alone is worth it really.

That'd be cool. It would basically let customers choose between 2 things: a price drop, or a bigger HDD.

I remember getting an 80GB PS3 and a 60 GB 360 and thinking they would be plenty. 2-3 years later started constantly having to delete and re download things, and I buy most AAA retail too. Especially after joining plus, and when all the good indies started coming out on both ~2010-2011 |
With PS Plus, always go for a HDD upgrade. I replaced my 160GB HDD with a 500GB one on the PS3 and it's being pretty good for now. I'm still happy with 500GB on PS4, but some years (or year) down the road I will probably replace it with a bigger HDD and maybe even the PS3 gets a bigger one if games keep coming on PS+.
I was leaning towards getting the Destiny bundle but a 1TB PS4 bundled with a few games (hopefully Second Son and/or Killzone are included) gives me more incentive to wait. I hope this rumor is true!

Those games don't take up much storage (yet) since they're all indie/small games. The main problem currently is that all games are automatically installed on the PS4 HDD. Games like TLoU already take up 50GB.
I hope all the people saying this will replace the 500GB are right, and the price will remain the same.
But it won't. Sony is gonna get greedy now. The 500Gb will stay the same price, this will be £50 more, until after Christmas, then this will become standard and 500gb will disappear. Then it will be the old price, but not before Sony has milked people this Christmas...
Man the 500GB is still $550 dollars in Australia, I don't think I'll be looking forward to its price. May as well just take out the 1TB HDD from my PS3 and swap it with the PS4s 500GB when I get one.

Not that it would hurt anyone though. In smartphones, double the storage will cost you 100 bucks and still people are gobbling it up.
As long as the people don't feel milked - and I don't think they do because they're making a concsious decision to buy it - everything's fine. I think Sony needs that cash a lot more now than the consumers.

1TB Hard Drive? It's like when the PS3 kept going larger and larger, why???
