Forums - Gaming Discussion - Ryse 2 Could Release On PS4;, Crytek Not Too Happy With Xbox One Sales

*IF* Crytek makes Ryse 2, I think it will be multiplatform

Platinums: Red Dead Redemption, Killzone 2, LittleBigPlanet, Terminator Salvation, Uncharted 1, inFamous Second Son, Rocket League

You'd think if Microsoft really felt it was a system seller then they'd fund it, but I don't think it did much but stall for Titanfall (I'm sure you can argue all that did was stall for Halo MCC, which is stalling for 5....)

As discussed on the announcement thread, there are a few of us who will buy it for the graphics. But Crytek needs to learn to make better games, or get some traction with the CryEngine beyond Star Citizen

Well as the story goes, MS did want a sequel to Ryse but they also wanted the IP. Crytek didn't agree to that so maybe they'll have to rely on a company like Deep Silver to fund Ryse 2.

Fair enough I guess. They could have solved it by offering more money if it was really important

Though actually that reminds me that Insomniac are keen about owning their own IP... Sunset Overdrive might not stay Xbox exclusive

They almost went broke because of this game. Let's hope they are not hoping it'll magically do better on future iterations, just because it'll be on PS4.

Let's look at Knack global sales on the barn burning PS4. 1.2 million globally vs just under a million for Ryse. There you go, apples to apples. No matter how well a console sells, a mediocre launch game is only going to sell so many.

Also remember that Knack was bundled in Japan with the PS4 when it was launched there, so 300k+ sales just came from that.

Your comment just reinforces his point. He said a bad game doesn't sell, even if it was on a good selling console.

Ryse 2 on the PS4? Well, on the one hand I don't want that...simply because I don't want that game. But on the other...This website would be fun...

Bet with Adamblaziken:

I bet that on launch the Nintendo Switch will have no built in in-game voice chat. He bets that it will. The winner gets six months of avatar control over the other user.

Lol at them trying to make it into a franchise... I like the name and the graphics, but everything else needs to change...

At that rate MS is probably better off investing in something else.

Ryse could become something interesting, but MS could also fund a new IP or do something with one their IPs for less.

I really think MS needs a very strong first party developer. All this buying of IPs without a really strong homebase (maybe except Epic games) is not really a good thing for the Xbox brand. Bungie who was thought to be The MS's "Naughty Dog" arent even first party and i believe the relationship between them and MS isnt the most amicable after the issues with Halo and ownership of IP. They really need to support new IPs for thier first party developers; learn to take risk and the game community will appreciate them for this.

I hope not, but more games couldnt hurt. Ryse should just stay with MS.

Yes I know, that's why I was agreeing with him...
