Forums - Nintendo Discussion - After 2 years, Nuketown 2025 DLC finally comes to Wii U Black ops 2. Possibly a Good sign or bad sign for CoD:AW?

Also, this smacks of placation to me.

"Sorry we're not giving you Advanced Warfare guys, here, have this 2-year old map DLC instead."

There could be something to this, but I am going to think positive and hope it is them trying to get Wii U people thinking about COD.

For Black ops 2 owners, you can now down load the DLC for free after 2 years of waiting. I kind of find this weird that they put out this DLC now. Kind of makes me thinking is this possibly a sign that they are saying sorry that they have no plans of releasing Advanced Warfare on Wii U. Or could it be a sign that they maybe trying to win back a couple of the Wii U owners by leaving them with a good taste in there mouths. Possibly making them have a more positive view on this game and hopefully buy it. It could even be a sign that Advanced Warfare will hit the Wii U in 2016.

Still no word on Advanced Warfare Wii U status. As far as I've seen, Activision has yet to come out and say no Wii U version. There has also been some recent sighting of the Wii U being in the source code of Advanced Warefare website. But time is running out on the Wii U version announcement.

I litterally trade in BO2 last week

Switch!!!

Very weird... I'm not sure if that's a good or bad sign for Advanced Warfare on Wii U.

Seems like the Treyarch Wii U team isn't fired yet. Or maybe not, I think the map was finished at launch and only held back.

Did they include the patches with the update? Some players preferred BO2 on Wii U because the late patches on the other systems made it worse.

This is called covering your butt because Microsoft Xbox One is tanking badly. It really just shows that all the prior excuses about how you can't provide this or that are lame.

Call of Duty is supposed to be a franchise but it can't be a franchise on just one platform and it is increasingly clear that Xbox One is in and will remain in third place. The choice is to cultivate a range of choices or go down swinging when all your eggs are in one basket and so are the eggs of everyone else which means you are fighting with them for the same dollars.

So now that Nintendo is and will remain number 2 Activision realizes that if the console market consolidates around largely one platform, then everyone will have to slug it out there and it is bad for everyone. Think Call of Duty vs Battlefield or something similar was bad before. Just wait until PS4 is the only platform to win or lose on and it will be much worse for the losers.

Xbox One is losing now not just because of a single trait but because there are two solutions targeting one market and that one market is making it's choice. Nintendo targets differently and can survive completely different dynamics. Well there is largely one market for FPS that release on an annual cycle. In the past the clear winner has been COD. However if another contender coming and they can focus on only one platform, they might be able to beat COD and Activision at their own game. So the choice becomes make them spread their resources out. Make it a multi-front war, make it harder to specialize.

it will sell 5 copies, because one guy will get error 3x when he'll try to buy

I'll pick up the next one if it hits Wii U.

I've not played a CoD since Black Ops 1, and I always enjoyed the multi player, so it's about time I had another blast at it.

This is just pathetic why release it now...?

Probably testing the waters and getting nintendo fans thinking about cod. Producing the dlc for wii u would be difficult considering the hard drive. Altogether, black ops 2's dlc is about 7 gb, anyone who got the standard model back when would have to buy an external hard drive if they wanted all that dlc and it's more than 20% of the 32 gb model.

I play black ops 2 here and there  because of it's local multiplayer dual screen option. This is good news.
