Forums - Gaming Discussion - Resident Evil HD Remake Is Going Flop Heres Why

I think anyone who became a fan of the RE series after RE4 who hasn't already played RE 1-3 would probably find the differences in gameplay and mechanics to be pretty jarring.

Like a lot of 5th gen games, where the transition into polygon graphics was a bit awkward due to technology constraints of the time, the original RE hasn't aged that well.

While I might play through this remake to experience RE one more time, I'm not really expecting much more than updated/modern visuals and the analog stick option, which is not to say that it won't actually be more than just that.

On the other hand, it is possible for Capcom to leverage a re-release of the original RE into a much needed return to the survival horror roots of the franchise that were lost when it became more action oriented starting with RE4.

But, I'm not going to get my hopes up.

The game will flop because it's not a remake of Resi 2!

I'll probably get it for nolstagic purposes.

Yeah, talk about a disappointing announcement. But then agaiin, it's Capcom, who has been producing almost exclusively crap for at least the past 3 or 4 years, so I can't say I'm surprised. I certainly am not interested in this, and I probably wouldn't be interested in Resident Evil 7 or the rumored Revelations 2 either. Capcom has to rebuild their reputation.

I personally liked all the resident evil's,up to 4. I thought 5 sucked and hated the co-op angle. could'nt bother to finish 6 as it was just to all over the place and felt like a chore just to get through a chapter. I agree with you though, capcom is'nt what they used to be back in the day.

Is there going to be some kind of upgrade deal? Because i already bought this in 1996. I hopeThey don't expect me to pay full price for this again. This should be cross-buy.

“It appeared that there had even been demonstrations to thank Big Brother for raising the chocolate ration to twenty grams a week. And only yesterday, he reflected, it had been announced that the ration was to be reduced to twenty grams a week. Was it possible that they could swallow that, after only twenty-four hours? Yes, they swallowed it.”

Another remaster that is going to flop? Yeah yeah, I've seen this before. Moving along now.

...Let the Sony Domination continue with the PS4...

meh played enough copies of it to nto need another.

Its liek zelda oot. had enough remakes.

I dunno, I'm in fact playing the Wii version (started before the announcement) and tought the game looked superb on Wii. I do think It does have a few design problems, but low ammo isn't one of those, fixated camera and frustating controls sure are.

Anyway, back to the topic this will not be a commercial flop, the cost for upscaling a game isn't too high and with few sales I'm sure they will at least break even or make a profit

I hope it does

I really don't get this kind of negative attitude towards remakes/remasters. Do you have nothing better to hope for, Raziel123. Like say, cure for Cordyceps.
