Forums - Gaming Discussion - Are the Wii U versions of multiplats better?

No, does PS4 have superior multiplats because they can be remotely played on vita?
No, no one mentions that they only mention slight differences in resolutions or colour saturation.

IMO Wii U has the very worst version of multiplats. No achievements/trophies = bad game to me.

I'm the opposite, Trophies/Achievements take away from games for me. I hope Nintendo never embraces them.

Interesting perspective. Why do you think that? Many games have achievement/trophy-like elements, including many Nintendo games I'm sure. They're just called different things in each game. I think achievements/trophies can be poorly implemented in games, which makes getting them a grind and a chore and take away from the enjoyment of the game. But in many cases they are a worthy challenge and add to the game. Unfortunately too many games have either auto-trophies, which simply get awarded as you progress through the game, so they are pretty meaningless, or they reqire hours of mindless grinding. So most developers have not figured out the optimum way of implementing trophies. But I like them as a concept.

If you think about it in a way they have. While for some people trophies are something fun, challenging, etc to do, for developers it's a way to make sure that people don't trade in their game or play the multiplayer/make their own levels. Users might not like these trophies, but they're great for developers. That way people don't trade in their copies hoping to get all trophies one day (mindless grinding) or postpone their trade-in. In other cases like Infamous 2 and LBP2 they add value to the game by having people create content for them. Sure some levels end up being terrible, but other times people start with a simple idea and take it to great places.

As far as I'm concerned from their perspective they have figured out " the optimum way of implementing trophies".

Nvm, missed it earlier.

I would say that the wiiu definetly has a diferent experience to every game, but to say that that expirience is better is a matter of opinion. Since I have a 32" 720 tv, I take the wiiu cuz I can probably not apriciate the ps4s quality of graphics, but I can defetly apreciate the wiius interesting controls with the gamepad.

Hahaha. Yep all resolution differences are negligible. Why did we even go past the ps2?

On a more serious note: It depends on the game.

Deus Ex: HRDE is a game I would say plays better with the pad than it does on my PC. Why? Because the pad is implemented in a way that makes it a very good addition to have on hand and one that you will miss when playing on PC. Rayman is another example of this. But games like ME3? No.

Other games? That would really depend.

For example, I would not play Dark Souls (and Demon's Souls if I ever had the choice of the matter) of any sort on a system that didn't have an XBox controller (even though the game is not on WiiU, I use it as an example of where multiplats are simply better somewhere rather than everywhere for a given reason). The PS controller is strictly inferior because of layout, and mouse/keyboard is a nightmare for the game. (Someone needs to find a way to hack an X1 controller onto a PS4 so that I can play Bloodborne... or maybe I should just do it myself.)

Are you saying I stated opinions? Cuz I stated circumstance where it would apply and thats a fact cuz is happening to me.

It was a joke. :c

I was poking fun at the very valid statement that everything in this sort of question depends on the person as an individual. But we don't allow opinions on the internet, only generalizations stated as facts that must apply to every one and thing.
