Ahhhh Politics. Unfortunately this goes much, much deeper than what is told to the mass population of America; We are not a Nation, we are a Corporation and the President of today does not hold the same job functions as our forefathers; These people merely represent a scapegoat now a days. I believe the situation is far more complex than people choose to believe.

An incompetent war criminal vs an incompetent patsy? They both broke the law and violated the constitution and both have taken actions to take freedom and civil rights away from American citizens. They should both be thrown in jail.

You know I was always wondering why no one ever used the dollar sign for $ony, but then I realized they have no money so it would be pointless.

couldn't have said it better myself, and if i had, it wouldn't have done done as much justice to the truth. now if only all of america saw it this way, but the truth hurts so u know the rest.

OP: u got bush ded on, but #3 fits Obama. as for #4 under Obama, with no help u get nothing done. president may be the highest office n the land of the_but its a powerless position when all u become is a scape goat for the problems of a corrupt nation and expected to fix the problems of the world.

The issue is what can a President be impeached for?

Per the constitution.
"The President, Vice President and all civil officers of the United States, shall be removed from office on impeachment for, and conviction of, treason, bribery, or other high crimes and misdemeanors."

Essentially if the president acts against the country they can be impeached. So, having debt approved by congress or starting a foreign war approved by congress or tax policies approved by congress do not seem to fall under the constitution of what someone can be impeached for. Being a bad leader or having a bad congress is not grounds for removal as it is written.

Perhaps the question should be "Should we amend what constitutes grounds for impeachment of public officials?"

I suppose "high crimes" is certainly subjective, but personally I'd have kicked them both out for their policies on spying and usage of drones (not to mention whatever association may have been held with op fast and furious and the new NDAA)

No. It seems I should have been clearer. I am just asking who you would impeach if you could. One or the other.

Honestly? Neither.  As much as I may dislike a President or their policies, they were elected to the office.  To me if we impeach a president because we really do not like what they doing in regards to social or economic positions then that Pandora's Box  would likely lead to every president facing impeachment given the toxic partisan bickering we see in this era.

We, as the electorate, need to be held responsible for our voting habits via consequences.  If we think we are on the wrong track we can vote every 2, 4 or 6 years to change things.  The issue is despite record low approval rating congress enjoys record retention, at least the president has term limits.  We have the government we deserve, with all its faults.
