Forums - Sales Discussion - Is it possible for PS4 to cross 17 million mark by 2014

17M is a possibility. Will be 10M sold on August 12th them consider average 500k months on August, September and october plus 4M+ Holiday and we are already at 15.5M
We need TLOUR, Destiny, DriveClub and LBP3 to push aditional 1.5M. Hard but possible. (18-19M shipped seems possible as well).

not sure if serious...... its already at about 9.1 (once lastweeks numbers come in). so you think the PS4 will really sell 1 million a month in the AUG thru DEC? LOL.    Its sold 500k in July (traditionally the slowest month) with no major releases. It will sell at least 100k more than that in Aug, so you think it will only sell 3.5 mil in the 4th quarter?  It will sell worst case half of that (1.75) between BF week and Last week before CMas.

End of 2009 Predictions (Set, January 1st 2009)

Wii- 72 million   3rd Year Peak, better slate of releases

360- 37 million   Should trend down slightly after 3rd year peak

PS3- 29 million  Sales should pick up next year, 3rd year peak and price cut

15 mil in my opinion is the basement. I dont think it goes lower than that. I think 16 mil is the target and 17 if everything goes right.

I agree 15m at the end of this year is possible, if only just.

17m at the end of this year, I'm not seeing. If PS4 doesn't reach 15m by January, I'm also not seeing 17m at the end of the fiscal year, because I'm not believing it'll sell over 2m in the first couple of months of the new year. Otherwise it could maybe barely make it.

explain the scenario where it only sells 15 mil? start at 9.1 mil end of July and show me how it does not sell 6 million-

August- the TLOU:R, people upgrading in preperation for Destiny

SEP- Destiny + typical seasonal increases (sep usually see sales increase)

Oct- Seasonal increase + AC:U, Driveclub, and continued Destiny sales (should be selling close to double what is it now by then)

Nov- Holiday shopping and major game releases

Dec- Peak Holiday season.

Again, Watchdogs with much less hype and less exclsive PS4 content gave a nice boost to PS4 typically lower month. Destiny is going to move alot of XB1s and even more PS4s (marketing, bundles, exclusive content)

ok so...

its sold 500k in July, again like I said no releases, and its just going to sell 500k in oct (which usually see sales close to double mid summer).

Novemeber- It will sell close to a million Black friday week alone. let alone the whole month.

Dec- 2 million will only happen if there is severe stock issues.

Cause you dont know what you are talking about, check some holiday sales on here before posting.  See how PS4 is annihilating X1 in Europe and guess decent numebrs for it.  Look at US dec numbers and see.  Its really that easy.

Take a look at this

http://www.vgchartz.com/tools/hw_yoy.php?reg=Global&start_year=2007&end_year=2008&console=PS3

Your numbers would mean a huge slowdown in PS4 sales compared to the PS3
