Forums - Gaming Discussion - How I Would Price PSNow ... And You?

I think the whole thing should be structured around the amount of hours, with only one price for the full game:

Single game pricing:

$1 = 2 hours
$3 = 5 hours
$7 = 10 hours
$10 = 15 hours

$15 = Unlimited time with the game.

Subscription:

$25 = 1 month for all you want to play.
$40 = 3 months
$70 = 6 months
$100 = 1 year.

PS+ subscription benefits:

5% off 1 months subscription
10% off 3 months subscription
15% off 6 months subscription
25% off 1 years subscription

DO IT SONY!

Italics: I don't know if these are good options because most games can be completed in that time.  I'd either shorten the time or charge more.

1 month Sub: Make it $30($29.99)

The rest I agree with.  :)

This has all been blown way out of proportion due to the pricing of the 4HR option. If Sony lowers the price range to something like 1$ for 2HRS game play then cumulatively you could get 8HRS for 4$, surely this would not be very cost efficient from Sonys end.
The 4HR option needs to be scrapped altogether but i agree with others that a short free trial could be beneficial, also the comparison to EA Access is ridiculous in my opinion but i wont bother getting into a debate about that I've read enough opinions about it this week haha

NO...............

$20 Unlimited access for 1 year.

Done.

If sony implements these plans, lots of games wont be on PS Now, third party companies wont agree to this. It can work for their in house titles but companies like square would laugh at an offer like this

The solution is very simple. Sony should do what they do now, but with each "purchase" of more time towards a certain game, you add what you have paid so far towards the full price of the game. If you reach that full price in spent money, you will "own" the game for as long as Playstation Now exists. That way if you find a game you like, pay whats left to the full price to own it! If you finish a game real fast, then you did not waste money by buying it fullpriced. Then if you want to play it again, pay for a few hours and if you reach full price = you own it. It shouldn't be that hard to do :)

$25 a month for access to all ps1/ps2 games and a renting services for ps3 games $10ea for a month or $5 a week

OP's pricing for single games doesn't make a lot of sense, considering $1 for 2 hours is the best pricing per hour, and the other amounts decrease the value.
2 hours = $1= .50 cent/hour
5 hours = $3 = .60 cent/hour
10 hours = $7 = .70 cent/hour
15 hours = $10 = .667 cent/hour

Buying more time should decrease the cost per hour, not increase it.

you are all out of ur mind... sony must make money and streaming is a costly thing.
100$ for a gaming flatrate?

Not everybody would use it to it's full extent though. Besides if they price it too high they won't be making money either because no one will be willing to pay for it.

but they have to calculate for a profit, and 100$ a year will surely not turn any profit.

that's because you keep assuming streaming costs are a "costly thing"

its way more costly than just selling digital copys.  so u should claculate in a little premium... but no, most people think the price will go down because of streaming.  and older games are maybe cheaper to stream, but its not as cheap as just selling them digital.
