things change all the time - and it really seems playstation and xbox have switched strtaegies this gen

last gen X360 started off as consumer and multi-platform oriented and PS3 had the silly complementary blu-ray strategy

this gen PS4 picked up on the policies of X360 (including the subscription to play online) and X1 has the silly complementary Kinect strategy
