In my defense, I only bought the Wii U after Mario Kart 8 came out and and knew very little about it (outside of big game releases) since it was released. I hadn't played Nintendo consoles much since early 2012, and was mostly gaming on the 360 :p

I'm surprised by how many people don't know about this, it's one of the reasons I have been going digital with some games
You know, i found out about this just yesterday when i was putting away my Wii U while i was moving to a new apartment. I saw the "digital promotion" offer on the box and wondered what it meant.

It has always been like this since launch. All Deluxe/Premium 32GB models are automatically enrolled in this promotion.
Just goes to show how terrible Nintendo can be with not only their own online newtork, as this should have always been a part of the eShop itself, not some arbitrary website, and marketing, as must of their own customers are completely unaware of this.
Funny how this promotion right here could move some more units if only people knew it actually exists.
I completely forgot about this. Then I saw a thread that reminded me in the beginning of the year and traded more than 5.000 points. Afterwards, I forgot about it... again! When I saw this thread I thought it was something new, when I checked the site I remembered what it was... what's wrong with me?!
Btw, the promotion lasts until the end of the year and the "Codes for Nintendo eShop credit must be redeemed by the end of June 2015."

I also thought this was common knowledge, although it was mainly advertised during the launch period.
