Forums - Sports Discussion - The NFL Thread 2014: New England Patriots Win Super Bowl XLIX

Who will win the Super Bowl?

Who cares? 41 36.61%

That AFC team. 29 25.89%

That NFC team. 5 4.46%

Hahaha, not the Packers! 25 22.32%

See Results. 9 8.04%

Total:109

I'll go:
New England Patriots
Miami Dolphins
Buffalo Bills
New York Jets

I think the Bills and the Jets are capable of surprising, both have good defenses. All Buffalo needs is E.J Manuel to step up in his 2nd year (and not get injured) and the Jets need Geno Smith to preform a lot better than he did his rookie year.

The Broncos are good enough to win it all?  Did you watch the Super Bowl?  Crap started running down Peyton's leg the first play of the game and never stopped.  The NFC is a much stronger conference.

No, I watched a tiny bit more than half of it. I do not even remember most of it. I turn off most one sided games no matter what the teams. The thing is just because you can do something it does not mean you will and that goes for individuals and teams. There can be only one.

.Not too many people will dispute more bad teams are  in the AFC. It is mostly due to a lot of cheap owners in the AFC. Though I do no longer think the NFC North  is a very strong of division. The NFC East was the worst division last year. The NFC South had only two good teams last year. The real strength is well known to be in the NFC West.

1. Patriots
2. Jets
3. Dolphins
4. Bills

I'll probably get this wrong, but my vote goes to Jets only because of Michael Vick. I'm sad he had to leave Eagles, but of course that they couldn't keep him.
Another year of no contest win for Patriots. Not really a fan of theirs, but I like them because their coach is Croatian.

Ok, well I think this is a cool idea. I am just not sure if most people are looking in the thread enough to do it.

1)Patriots- My 2nd favorite tight end Gronk is back. Brady‘s QB rating with Gronk playing was way higher with him than without him.

2)Jets- I just hope the ets new wide reciever Eric Decker does well without Peyton Manning.

3) Dolphins- They have been an about .500 club for a lot of years.

4)Buffalo Bills

AFC Least:

1. Pats de facto standard champion again
2. Dolphins
3. Bills
4. J-E-T-S

AFC North:

1. Bengals
2. Steelers
3. Joe Flacco's salary and some bums
4. Browns

Agree! This division will probably be won by the team making the least mistakes. I simply cannot support Big Ben anymore, this might be the year he definitely stops being an upper tier QB, I expect him finishing the season benched. I do however like Flacco, and will put my bets on him being in form.

1. Baltimore
2. Cincinnati
3. Pittsburgh
4. Cleveland

I think BAL and CIN will be in the playoffs, PIT will be a .500 team at best, and I'll probably predict against Browns every single game, I hope to have at least 12 correct guesses.

I'm pretty sure spending is even across the conferences. And as I recall, there's a floor on spending now, so you can't go low in the first place even if you want to.

Tough division to pick the AFC North, but I'll go with:

Bengals
Steelers
Ravens
Browns

Big Ben is like wine, just seems to get better so if he has another year like last, Steelers will be tough to get by in this division.
