I'd say yes, but I'd be really surprised if enough people stick around by the end of Week 17. I think there will be a ton of dropoff once folks start feeling like they can't win it.

Well, it would take only eight people to hang on in order to run such a thing. Hanging on should be worth it to maybe enter the playoffs for the top 16 and participate in a contest for another prediction league title. That was the whole idea of my playoffs to begin with, to reduce the number of people who drop out once they have no realistic chances to win the regular season anymore. The same line of thought holds true for these bottom half playoffs; it means that people will have a postseason as long as they keep playing.

24+ people making it to the very end of the regular season shouldn't be too much to ask for. The theoretical chances to snatch #16 should be intact for #17-24 until the very last week.

True dat. Make sure to include it in the first post and remind peeps throughout the second half so they know they still have something to fight for.

As much as I am happy to win this week's competition, I'm equally sad that I lost my Fantasy matchup thanks to three (3!!!) touchdowns by Percy Harvin called back due to penalties. Harvin finished the game with a total of 2 (two) fantasy points (2 rushes for 7 yds, 4 receptions for 27 yards). I am now 2-3 in my league, hovering just above the cellar door.

Next week's predictins will be very tough, a whole bunch of games that could go either way, some matchups between horrible teams, and I think that I might pick below .500.
Also, it was very difficult to decide which early afternoon game to watch, I'll probably go with Panthers @ Bengals.

So how does me missing a week mean I get losses? I was super busy last week my record should be the same as last week.

IND-HOU 1 PIT-CLE 1 NE-BUF 1 CAR-CIN 2
JAC-TEN 1 GB-MIA 1 DET-MIN 2 DEN-NYJ 1
BAL-TB 1 SD-OAK 1 CHI-ATL 2 DAL-SEA 2
WAS-ARI 2 NYG-PHI 2 BYE   SF-STL SF by 9

As I said, a very tough week. I don't like putting so much faith in visiting teams, but I feel like they should dominate most matchups.

- Texans are not a bad team, but I doubt Fitzpatrick can outplay Luck.

- Steelers are not good, as I predicted before the season, Browns are actually better than I thought, fight to the end, but it's one thing to edge out Titans, and another to play against Pitt.

- Brady vs. Orton. Patriots performance two weeks ago led me to bench Brady on my FF team last week (luckily, Romo had a good day as well). They rebounded well, and should continue to do so, even though Bills have a formidable defense.

- The matchup I'll choose to watch. Another game that could go either way, Bengals need to rebound after the New England debacle, and Panthers have so many injury problems. Should be a close, low-scoring game.

- Jaguars @ Titans cripple fight should give Blake Bortles his first NFL victory. Players to dominate the game: punters and kickers.

- Packers @ Dolphins - After stumbling out of the gate, Packers certainly don't look like a below .500 team anymore. Dolphins are constantly the greatest mystery to me, I rarely watch them, I know very little about them (is Dan Marino still the QB there?), but they always seem to hover around the wild card spot, able to surprise any good team, and to get beaten by any poor team.

- I pick Vikings as an unexpected win. Megatron might sit out, Lions kicker might be dead drunk by the 4th quarter, and Stafford is always walking a fine line between a perfect pass and a horrible interception.

- Rex Ryan is a great coach, but it's tough to field a high school team and expect to win. I bet he's kicking himself for trading Mark Sanchez.

- Bucs continue to find creative ways to lose matches, Flacco should benefit from it this week.

- Can Chargers have back-to-back shutouts? Probably.

- I always pick Falcons to win, unless they really don't have a chance. This week, they have a chance.

- Time to put Brady back in my starting lineup, because Romo certainly won't get many points.

- Team that should not be named put up a good fight last night, no interceptions for Cousins. I expect that to change against a good Arizona team that will probably start their 7th string QB. 6-3 Arizona victory.

- One of these days, Eagles will give me a massive heart-attack. It could be this week already. They should just stop fielding their offense and try to return punts for touchdowns all day. A close Eagles win with a nailbiting final 2 minutes...

- Rams are thinking they are good because they almost came back to win last game, bt it was only because Chip Kelly bet them on a 6,5 point spread. 49ers will win easily, but I don't want to put more than a 9 point difference, because Rams might get some scores in the 4th quarter garbage time.

@rol I think the playoff idea is great because it gives people more reason to stay interested in the league even if their team is out of the playoffs.

My thought of the week, finally, the Broncos get an opponent that is not good. Yes!!!!

No one's talking about the biggest story this week.

He led the Bears to the playoffs in his rookie year only to be replaced by Rex Grossman, because Rex and Lovie Smith were having sex at the time. He was sent to Denver where he would get booed every time that he completed a 20 yard pass because he wasn't Tim Tebow. He is the 1 in the 15-1 for the Packers that year that they choked in the first round of the playoffs. He made a a few million a year for holding Tony Romo's clipboard. He was called up out of retirement a month ago and after an early interception thrown for a pick six led an improbable come from behind last second victory for the Bills. He is the legendary, Kyle Orton.

Changed the headline for you.

And yes, if my team's QB were Jay Cutler, I would consider Kyle Orton good too.

You know that Cutler was aquired in a trade for Kyle Orton and some draft picks, right?

No, that was before my return to following the NFL.

Return?  When did you stop following?  After old man Elway outplayed Favre in the Super Bowl?

Well sadly Dallas's win streak will come to an end this week , hopefully after having a good week in the prediction league I can have another good week in a row (I've been up and down each week of the season so far)

By the way, I don't like a playoff for the bottom half. I say that the bottom three members of the prediction league are relegated next season like European football.

Fuck Kyle Orton.

That's about all I remember of his days as a Bronco.

Also, it was funny to read his comments about his relationship with Romo in Dallas and how it was untenable. Wonder wtf happened.
