Forums - Gaming Discussion - Hyrule Warriors: Why Does Nintendo Hate Online Play?

And because I find it funny that this article comes out the day that I read about the Hyrule Warriors no online co-op thing:

Well maybe one day Iwata will figure out the the internet exists.

Sigs are dumb. And so are you!

Nintendo just needs to do both types. You do lose sales when you don't have the extra options. One of the main reasons the cybertron transformers games lost sales, was when they removed online co-op.

You know, this is very likely a developer's decision. Nintendo is not developing the title, they are co-publishing it.
Besides the local coop is NOT split screen which makes that infinitely better. I don't care much for online, less people there trolling me the better. I've had way too many games were people just do shit all.

Do other games in this series have online co-op? Is that why people are so upset about it? By series, I mean dynasty warriors or whatever this is based off of.

My being upset about it stems from the fact that Nintendo is clearly lagging behind the general consensus that online play actually matters to a lot of gamers out there.  I know they like the idea of people playing together on the couch, but for some of us that just isn't realistic.  Online co-op is the next best thing.

I'll still buy it, haven't even thought about the multiplayer yet.

But online would be neat, yes.

Yep.

The game is made by Koei. It's even published by them in Japan.

But yeah this is totally Nintendo's fault.

But what's this online battle adventure mode?

Do we get to fight each other online, instead of co-op? Because this is still an online mode being advertised.

Just because there's no online co-op doesn't mean there's no online at all in some form, besides Miiverse and DLC.

When a large number of games on your system come out lacking the functionality, it is your fault.  Nintendo can go back to these companies and say "we want you to include online co-op" and even provide a little extra incentive if they need to.  They aren't doing so, as is evident by the lack of online options.

Exactly. People jump to conclusions way to quickly.. A PvP mode would be epic!
