An original orange xbox has been found, and some are saying its legit, has original markings on it and the owner is recieving offers of upwards of $15k

"I know all about it. I tracked down the person in charge of Xbox case manufacturing. It's the real deal, made as a sample to test potential colors. Only a handful of complete shells were made, although there were quite a few of tops made. Either way, it is really rare, and I hope it goes to someone willing to take proper pictures and put it in a museum. 

There were all sorts of potential colors tested, though this seems to be one of the most common (and thus, the most survived). There were red ones made as well, multicolored, colorshifting, and even glow in the dark."

It looks cool. I love clear cases. Clear GBC, GBA and N64 were awesome.

Would be really cool for a collection. But not the holy grail. that would be a Nintendo PlayStation. If you happen to own such a prototype, you're teh shit! :P

I had a black one, modded it to play everything off of hdd, so removed the optical drive and dremmeled a few CM off all the way around, ended up a white slim xbox, then had a team xecuter LCD panel in the center with the power button moved to the back of the machine, looked awesome.
