Forums - Gaming Discussion - PlayStation Now Open BETA Begins Tomorrow In North America

Sony will be releasing their Playstation Now BETA to the public tomorrow in North America for all PS4 users and is set to start with 100 games.

Previously announced during the follow up to the Open BETA, Sony is looking to offer a subscription service for it’s game streaming service “PlayStation Now” when interviewed by IGN, Senior Director Jack Buser had this to say:

“We’re working diligently to bring a subscription option to gamers to compliment our rental offering for PlayStation Now,” said Buser. “We believe that offering both of these options would provide gamers the freedom to discover and play games in ways that weren’t before possible.”

Unfortunately Buser couldn’t provide details on when we should expect a service like this to become available and was very clearly noting that nothing is “Set in stone” Pricing for the current rentals on Playstation Now are still fluctuating and it has been said that Sony will be looking for feedback from the users throughout the open BETA, so far we have heard that some games will be priced as low as $1.99 which comes in at $1 cheaper than the current closed BETA prices however as stated previously, nothing is set in stone and everything is subject to change.

The PS5 Exists.

I'm making a shrine for all the lost servers on this day right now.

If you demand respect or gratitude for your volunteer work, you're doing volunteering wrong.

Playstation Now.....coming tomorrow.

Just found that a bit amusing

Can't wait to see how bad this thing works on my shitty internet connection! Time to waste some pesos!

hope there is some free games so i can see how this service is

I tested this in the first beta when they had 20 or so games for free and it actually worked great on both PS3 and PS4 over wifi. When they introduced the pricing on it in closed beta, the pricing was a total ripoff. I highly doubt many people paid what they were asking.

Guess PS Now will come to Vita in like 2015

Why would they not just make it like NetFlix (PS+) where you pay a monthly/yearly fee and get to play all of the games available since it is streaming? I thought that was how it was going to be from the original description of the concept. They are fools if they think anyone would pay separate fees to rent games that they can already play on the PS3 and even the PS2 and pay the same price for the retail games as the rental.
