Forums - Microsoft Discussion - Xbox One vs PS4: How Microsoft's Console is Getting Better and Better Than Sony's

In fact, Microsoft has paid careful attention to what its gamers want and has given them just that on many occasions. The company has rolled out eight solid updates till date, with each containing new features, including the ability to use external hard drives to manage game collection.

LOL. well here are the facts. Sony has built the PS4 based on feedback, it built it with gaming in mind and gaming first. microsoft built their machine with multi media in mind and multi media first. Sony didnt neglect gamers and never listened to them, the case is that Sony did that years ago, and microsoft just started doing so and is playing catch up when it comes to catering to gamers.

Sony on the other hand has hardly added any features to the PS4 since its launch and has kept the vast majority of its updates minor.

what a load of shit. Sharefactory was a huge update and they KEEP updating it.

this article is stupid, it has no logical reasoning, its basing the quality of the consoles based on updates, which is franly incredibly stupid, and it also manages to ignore any sort of updates the PS4 had just to fit an agenda.
quality read indeed.

I did not even read the article, but looking at your quotes.I see I was right to assume an agenda was present. At the end of the day you can not play updates.

Well nothing new I always thought XB was far superior to PS... If it was all about power I'd be gaming exclusively on PC... Feature wise, usage wise (GUI, navigation), gamepad wise, future wise I always feel like MS is a step forward now they do tend to trail to implemented their concept... But I have time it's not like the Gen is over tomorrow... But beside power I'm pretty sure we will have way more stuff thrown at us than PS....

Actually, Xbox was launched in beta version. People keep saying how good the Xbox updates are, then when I go to see what's new, there are things like:

- NOW you can see the last time your friends were online
- NOW you can see how much battery is left on Xbox controller
- NOW you can use smartglass!
- NOW you can purchase through mobile devices
- NOW you can see how much GB your HDD have

Then I just stop... Look at screen... All of these things were already on PS4 how long ago? Isn't this supposed to be the standard? Ok, you can use smartglass and we have PlayStation App since launch, and even things that are relevant like 3D Bluray were launched first on PS4. You can't use them on Xbox yet.

Maybe there's some other feature that I don't know that is not available for PS4, but I don't think he's getting better at all. Actually, I think he's late.

Lol.

its hard to state with complete certainty that there is an agenda present. because the article is just extremely stupid and poorly written that i have a hard time believing that the author has the intelligence needed to write an article with an agenda behind it.

Until SCE feels a sense of urgency to rush updates to gain lost ground, repair damage to consumer confidence and restore confidence in the product, they'll probably continue to take a more measured/relaxed approach to updating new feature sets.

It has not escaped my notice that SCE was much quicker to add as many features as possible, as soon as possible with the PS3, undoubtedly due to the high cost and lower market share. "Add value, reduce cost, recover market share."

I'd be lying if I said I didn't care about being able to use external drives, play MP3s during games, play MP4 videos, a media remote, or any of the other features currently available with the PS3 as well as the simple ability to change my user name, but none of these features make me believe the PS3 is a better console; it simply has a more comprehensive set of functions than the PS4 that I would really like to see in the PS4 so it can become my primary home entertainment box as I transition off the PS3.

As it stands, I don't think there is anything the XBO can change that would influence me to buy one short of the much lower price and much larger back catalog of exclusives one would expect of a console several years into its product life cycle.

And then along come update 1.75 for PS4 a fair bit before this article is posted in this thread, that adds 3D Blu-ray playback support. I tested it last night.

Yes about time, but that's a feature worth mentioning.
