Anyways, Fall season is here, and three of the shows on my hype/mild interest list aired.

Shokugeki...well I've been excited about it since it was announced so I went in overhyped already. I didn't like that the contents of the previous OVA were glossed over, as it made Souma's motivation seem random and sudden. The new Elite 10 characters have some amazing voice talent, including Yuki Kaji, Kana Hanazawa, and basically the main cast of Gintama...though I'm bummed we won't see much of them until later. Next arc is pretty hype...also excited that is apparently going to get two cours. Woo woo!

Also Ahhhh! Sorina moment in the OP! *jumps up and down* I admit I was a little bummed when I heard Risa Mineta wasn't returning as Erina this season due to personal issues...but I think the new voice actress handles it well. Doesn't sound as harsh...but she'll handle the dere moments fine. Funny that my favorite girl last season has the same voice actress as my likely favorite one this season.

Black Clover was so boring I started daydreaming about the new collar I bought my cat that's slightly too small for him. I'm someone who usually likes these Jump adventure shows...but for crying out loud it was like going through a shounen checklist. Fortunately, Pokoko's not the only one I've heard say it gets better..so I'll give it some time. We'll see...might be one of those shows I forget to watch.

Turns out Shokugeki is still fucking amazing. How do they do it?

In lighter news, I'm actually catching up on the past season. I finished the short ones and I'm close to finish Cheer Fruits and MHA. This still leaves like 50 episodes to go from 5 other animes but at least I'm making progress.

The new season helps a bit by having everything other than Shokugeki being trash so far.

URAHARA isn't actually an anime. It's an art project by some fashion design student. The show is certainly very unique but sadly the direction is too messy. And not messy in a good way. It distracts from an otherwise very fun and colerful anime. Hopefully the next ep will be better. Would be a real shame to have to drop it.

Konohana Kitan is a beautiful mix of Urara Meirochou and ARIA. Focuses on visuals, music and moe and less on comedy. The only danger is that it might become boring. Still a definite keeper for now. I mean it's an anime full of fox girls in kimonos, what else do you want more?

Have you seen the original? If so, how do they compare? The original holds a special place in my heart, so as much as I'm interested in more Kino's Journey I'm a bit scared by the new art direction.

So I was watching some Dragon Ball Super these last weeks. I think there's probably an insane amount of backlash, I really enjoyed it. But I have a somewhat weird, and not popular opinion about the anime. For instance, I think that Dragon Ball is clearly superior to Dragon Ball Z, and that Z started to become enjoyable in the Buu Saga. Which I think is not a common thought, Buu is normally regarded as the worst Z saga. It's just that I feel that in the Buu Saga the show recover that sense of silly, goofy humour and magic which made me love the first show. Freeza/Cell saga were maybe too dark and grim, and humour was totally lost in the way. Super felt more similar to the first one than anything from Z (except for the Buu Saga), so I'm really happy about the result. Except from some animation issues, which were ironed out as the show advanced.
