I think I found myself at an impasse. I love watching anime but in the past months I barely get to watch anything because other things keep me from it. That means my backlog is piling up a lot. And even though a reduced my anime list for this season it's still too much. At my current pace I think even watching 5 animes in a season would be too much.

My backlog still contains stuff from last season I will have to drop and I will also have to drop a lot from the current season. It really sucks though be cause there are so many awesome ones that I want to experience but can't :(

For now I had to drop Sakura Quest, Hina Logi, Re Creators, Clockwork Planet and Zero, Hajimete no Gal. It felt awful. That bhrings my current watch list down to 14 but Istill leaves over 70 episodes in my backlog.

Help?

Anime Backlogs are the reason why I watch anime 1 at a time, and not until the seasons are fully released. That way when I do find time, I spam that show until finish. Technically I have an eternal backlog, and it can't ever be conquered. But at least I can just say I have 13 episodes to watch and then move on to the next 13 or so.

Switching from full seasons to ongoing ones was a measure I took to increase my watching speed. It's way easier for me to watch one episode at a time. When I see a long list I get intimidated and watch less or not at all. That's one of the reasons why why a big backlog is keeping me from watching more.

Every weekend I say to myself to just power through it but so far I always got distracted. I just can't watch too many episodes at a time. While watching anime is a lot of fun, gaming always wins out because it's more interactive and occupies more of my senses at a given time. I can't binge watch a full season in a day like I did when I started watching animes anymore. Hell, I can't even sit through a whole anime movie without taking a break.

I feel like my life needs some serious reconstruction.

Pick the top anime you are most caught up with and just watch that episode or 2, see if it makes you want to watch more.

Idk how many people do this, but for me personally I save up a few 9/10+ anime or at least anime that I think I will like. Then when I feel like I need an anime recharge I watch one of them. After that I feel a need for more anime so I take up a percieved lesser anime right after. Of course sometimes they can surprise me and lead me to watch more as well.

Maybe I should try that. Currently I'm basically doing the opposite. Always trying to watch the lesser ones first to have them behind me and leave the awesome ones for the end. Problem is I never reach the end.

After I sorted out my list and files I have 70 episodes in my backlog. Though 20 of those are shorts. Let's see if I can at least get those done today.

All this time I've been so confused as to why "Yuri on Ice" was called Yuri when it was Yaoi.

I FINALLY GET IT! It's a character's name!

Princes Principal is as good as the first episode promised. Though it does have a weird story structure.

Ep 1 Action packed present
Ep 2-3 Origin story of 4 of the girls without any indication that it's a flashback
Ep 4 Action packed present
Ep 5 Origin story of 1 of the girls without any indication that it's a flashback

I'll be the new thread leader

On account of classes starting again, I may lose some time to watch anime. That said I will be watching less of Twitch soon anyways.

I have tons of episodes to watch from just these 4 main shows...

Little Witch Academia 25 ep
Gate 24 ep
My hero Academia 24 ep
Food Wars Shokugeki no Soma 24 ep
97 in all for these major shows, starting with LWA since its on netflix.

Then I have lesser shows which often have 13 episodes like Amagi Park, Tsugumomo, Tsukigakirei, Alderamin, Kado, etc etc etc,

*wipes away sweat*

Enjoy! Just PM Truckosaurus if you haven't already and let him know you're the new overlord. Don't get too worried about constant updates...I'm still trying to decide if I like horror anime or not.

I finished Mysterious Girlfriend X and was very disappointed that there wasn't a second season. The anime also has a very weird way of progressing relationships ... apparently panty shots and swimsuits come before kissing?

It was a fun show though
