Alright, so I finished Ghost Hound and I loved it. I just wish the ending had been better, it literally did nothing to answer any of the questions that the viewer could have. It also felt so out of place with the rest of the episodes, suddenly this psychological thriller became a "rescue the princess" kind of affair and everything that the plot had been leading to... Just didn't matter anymore. They DID try to give some answers in the last couple of episodes, but they were so poorly explained (such as a character reading a letter with all the answers to his personal dilemma, and we as viewers didn't get to know anything besides a couple of shallow words).

I did enjoy the anime overall and I would probably watch it again until episode 20 or 21, ain't nobody got time for that random finale.

I also watched 4 episodes of Knights of Sidonia and I enjoyed them. The art style is nice, the setting is nice... The characters are NOT. I stopped watching after the main guy suddenly got super powers and decided to risk his life to rescue some whore he met three days before. Seriously, the guy is new and is oblivious to the fact that 4 chicks are already "in love"/"inexplicably interested in him". Come on!! This is some Xenosaga type of setting and storyline, and they decided to ruin it with typical anime cliches. NEXT.

Dood... it`s anime.... you should expect that. It would be a huge shock if there was one where the main guy actually realised multiple girls were in love with him

There has to be a few of those. But seriously, just because that's an overdone cliche, I shouldn't have to expect it in a series that is marketed as a "mature" story about an apocalyptic earth.

Finished binge watching My Hero Academia, and damn it's so freaking brilliant. I'm actually sad I'm caught up with it so I have to wait for new episodes. But this anime, it's just so amazing.

I've been meaning to get more into anime for a really long while now. Up until now the only anime I've ever really watched was Pokémon and Yugioh, and I just didn't know where to start. Then I was watching one of Etika's streams and he watched the second episode of My Hero Academia and it just drew me in.

As soon as I got around to watching more episodes I just couldn't stop each one was just so good. The characters, the stories, the emotion, the dialogue, the animation, it's all just so good. I watched the English sub, and am pretty glad I did, I feel like the all the heavy emotion in this anime, would come off more cringey in the English dub to me. The only complaint I have it is probably the super lack of filler from what I'm used to. I mean I know a lot of people usually see it as complaint, but I feel like they could just slow it down a bit with more episodes just focusing on new class lessons.

Anyway if anyone has any anime they'd like to suggest to me, as I'm currently on the look out for more anime to watch. I've currently got my eyes on Assassination Classroom, if you have any others that you think I'm missing out on not watching I'd really appreciate some recommendations.

I'm currently watching Mysterious Girlfriend X ... and it's just ... just so .... "what the fuck!?!?!!"

I can't tell if it's brilliant or just fetish garbage. It's about a guy who has to suck a girl's drool to not get love sick. Very strange so far ... haha.

Good call on MHA...it's one of my favorite series at the moment. I tried a little bit of the dub, and couldn't take more than a minute of it. One of my favorite characters sounded like he was 40...which would be fine if he wasn't a freaking high schooler.

Assassination Classroom is a very good call, it was actually my anime of the year last year. It's pretty goofy initially, and the premise is crazy, but the gag comedy makes the eventual serious arcs that much more powerful. The ending had me actually bawling...it was that powerful.

Could go anywhere with recommendations if you're new to it, but if you don't want something endless, I'd say try Food Wars or One Punch Man. Food Wars: Shokugeki no Souma is one of my favorite manga series, it's essentialy an ecchi battle anime about cooking, and it's glorious. One Punch Man is more of a comedy about an overpowered superhero, but is very well animated and fun to boot.

Been following Classroom of the Elite recently.
It's quite entertaining. Latest episode came out today.
I'm just quite intrigued about the bipolar batshit crazy girl.

Thanks !

Loved Kill la Kill. Reminded me a bit good ol' Gainax like Fuli Culi or Panty & Stockings

Probably because it's by the same director who left Gainax and founded Trigger to do more of the good stuff. Just look out for any stuff from Trigger.

For in between you can watch Space Patrol Luluco and Little Witch Academia.

One Punch Man and Mob Psycho are safe bets if you like My Hero Academia. Personally I don't like One Punch Man very much, but it's beloved and you'll probably enjoy it. Mob Psycho is even more recommended.

Also even if it isn't a super hero show, Gurren Laggan is definitely one i'd recommend if you love the emotional shounen perspective. Definitely one of the most love-crafted anime out there.

Just finished the first season of Food Wars! Shokugeki no Souma (many thanks for the recommendation Super_Boom, I wouldn't of found out about it otherwise). Watched the English dub (which I think only really recently released?) as the English voice actors for this were really quite amazing, and suited each character so well. Who would of thought an anime about cooking could be so intense? Each episode had me on the edge of my seat as a challenge took place. The brilliant vocabulary describes each dish so well you can almost taste what they're describing. The animation used to visualise the sensation of each taste is done so well (while it's maybe um... let's a say a bit over the top?) still is a treat to the eyes displaying just how much impact each taste of a dish has on the characters.

While my list of anime maybe short, this one has definitely earned a spot as one of my favourites! I've a few more weeks of nothing much but free time on my hands, I definitely intend to discover more Anime that I've been missing out on in that time.

Nice! That was fast!

Glad you liked it...it's definitely really unique. As I recall, the author of the manga has a consultant he works with, which is why the recipe explanations are so detailed. I see memes of it a lot, but I enjoy seeing how the author explains how a simple recipe change can have a huge impact on the flavor of the dishes.

If you're not attached the dub, season 2 aired last year, and season 3 will air in a few weeks, the latter of which has my favorite arc from the manga. No idea how long the dub will take to get there though.

Out of curiosity, how is Erina's voice in the dub? I've heard mixed things about her English voice on Reddit.

I know lol, and yeah I plan to start watching the sub tomorrow as I want to stay caught up with it.

Also to answer your question, Erina's voice in the dub is actually one of my favourite out of them, when I was praising the dub for the voices suiting so well for the characters it was her who I was thinking of when writing it. It's got this perfect elitest/queen bee vibe to it which also perfectly conveys a sassy teenager and it brilliantly fits between both her enthusiastic and unenthusiastic states.

Here's a clip, it's not the best example of her voice acting, just the first major scene we see her, but it'll give some idea. It grows more on you throughout the season.
