Zou Island? I don't watch the anime, but the arc with the giant elephant and Mink tribes was a recent story arc in the manga.

Actually though, wow, that arc just happened in the manga like a few months ago. That's some fast adaptation there.

The anime is always fairly close to the manga, generally between 10 and 20 chapters of content behind the manga. The Dressrosa arc just went on absolutely forever both in the manga and anime, and even Punk Hazard was a little on the long side. Zou Island was only around 20 chapters though, so it will probably last around 12 - 15 episodes total, depending on how slowly they may have chosen to adapt it.

At this point the animation studio has figured out pretty well how to be sure there will always be content available, even if the means to reach that end are annoying, like the actual new content of an episode sometimes being as little as 12 minutes between OP, intro, recap, and then the outro and preview.

Danganronpa Despair 7 :

What the.... That was brutal. Really brutal, almost painful IMO, even after the 3 games and the previous episodes. As expected, when they switch to despair mode, they don't do it by half. Well, I need to play some Nep Nep now to feel better...

Only satisfaction with what happened: She's still alive! o/ That was unexpected... But now, how will she die ? :(

EDIT : To be clear, it's a great episode, Despair was expected, no disappointment here!

That's pretty crazy. I knew about the anime's...annoying pacing...but I didn't know it ran so close to the manga. The anime team must start drafting episodes right after the chapters come out to be so close behind. I was under the impression it takes a few months to produce anime...though maybe I've been underestimating how fast they work.

The pacing is unfortunate...since the overall story is so amazing. I remember I read on the One Piece wiki that one of the arcs, I think Marineford, actually had more anime episodes than manga chapters, which baffled me. I suppose if they stretch it the content that much...it makes sense.
