So Rokka feels like a waste of time...

Another cliffhanger? Or not? Is it safe to watch yet?

It felt like it sets up everything for the NEXT season.. If there is one.. Which is lame cause this was horribly paced... At this rate it would take a 100 episodes before we even see the the demon king.. Talking about lame.. Just watch it

Ended exactly as I expected it to, good episode. This was just the first volume and it is mainly a mystery light novel people, of course the mystery wont end so easily but the stage of it has changed.
There are currently 6 volumes out and the true 7th has been revealed at that point, I plan on reading the light novel eventually but I'm gonna wait a year before to see if we get season 2. They could up the pace after this volume.

Or talk about you missing the point. And no it wouldn't take 100 episodes. 6 volumes are out and at the end of volume 6 the mystery has been solved. This was a LN which stuck to the pace of the original LN and only adpated a single volume. I agree that they should try to adapt 2-3 volumes next time around but that would lead to a lot of rushing unless they get 2 cours. There is a lot more to Rokka no Yuusha than fighting the demon lord. It is mytsery first.

...Rokka final.... What the actual fuck!, what the hell was with that new characters design, most dissapointing final of the season so far.. Oh AND WHO THE HELL LEFT THESE TABLES OUT!!!! LOL, the people that read the LN were waiting for that reaction.  I heard people in Japan were hoping for them to make her more moe and the animators obviously didn't give any..... so they left her original design.

Well, Rokka no Yuusha wasn't as good as we all made it out to be ...

It's unlikely going to get a second season so it's definitely a 6/10 for me ...

Thoughts on the only two anime I'm watching this season.

Charlotte: AH YES MY SHIP MY FUCKING SHIP WOOOOOOOOOO

This episode made me feel really good. Seeing all the friends again, happy family reunions, and Yuronoa Zoro's resolve to get all the powers. Was hoping Nao would come with him to keep him from going crazy again, but I suppose this way is for the best. I really get into that Yin/Yang, opposites attract-type romance, so I liked how they called it out. "We have absolutely zero chemistry. / I don't care, I love you." :'D

Great anime overall, and despite a few plot holes here and there, I definitely plan to rewatch it.

Also, maybe just because I'm a hardcore shipper, but I was really hoping Yu would call her "Nao" before leaving. Most of my ships do the first name thing, so I was hoping this would follow suit. Not a big deal though, as this is probably more realistic.

Rokka: Well my gut feeling was right. Like I said last week, Bunnygirl seemed to be shown pretty prominently for such an underdeveloped character. After her retardation over the last two episodes (seriously, why would she just believe Maura with zero evidence when she was so determined it wasn't Adlet that whole time?), the dismal amount of character development she had after episode 2, and her...ominous looks in that one ED, I kinda figured she had to be the villain. The whole episode served as an explanation for all the frustrations I had with her character.

That being said...overall, the ending didn't really satisfy me. I can appreciate that it stayed faithful to the source material, but I really didn't understand why the whole season was resolved, only to introduce the exact same problem. Only now it's not a problem because they can leave. Maybe I just need to chew it over for a bit more. If it gets a second season I'll probably watch it...but overall it didn't really resound with me. I'll just hope it develops Goldov, Maura, and Chamot next time around, as I really didn't feel much attachment to these characters.

Personally, I liked the final episode of Rokka. It worked for me. Yes, there were some pacing issues in the middle of the season, as it felt like the anime was being stretched out artificially, but that's better than being rushed. Yamada-kun as an example, where a great deal of content was mashed into one season.

I was gone today, came back, and bam, new episodes of things. I just finished Rokka first, so let's start with that.

I thought this season was very well done. I felt the pacing was fine, and considering the focus on proving Adlet's innocence and building his relationship with Fremy, I'd say all goals were met. True, some of the Braves didn't get jack for character development, but if it wasn't there, I'm sure it also wasn't in the light novel. Honestly, I didn't even care about Goldov getting more back story, or Maura and Chamot being explained. They are probably the three least interesting characters. Well, they're a step above whatever the hell the new character is supposed to be. But I digress.

Overall, I give the season about an 8/10 because it kept making me want to watch more. If a show can accomplish that, it's doing a fine job. With these weekly shows, you have to be doing something right for me to follow from episode one, week by week, to the end. I think the only other shows that held my attention from the start of the season to the end was Gate, which will keep going (speaking of, new episode to watch), and Gakkou Gerashi. God Eater almost made the cut, but its sporadic release schedule has just caused me to play catch up whenever I notice new episodes finally released.

I can easily recommend Rokka to anybody looking for a fantasy anime that has action, but focuses more on mystery than standard beat up the big bad cliches.

Quick edit: It's worth noting, if you haven't watched the Rokka finale yet, DO NOT READ COMMENTS ON WHATEVER SITE YOU WATCH IT ON. Seriously. I managed to avoid it thanks to people kindly pointing out that spoilers were below, but people seem to think now that this season has ended, it's a great time to spoil absolutely everything from the light novels up to the most recent release.

So, I just started watching the supposed third season of Milky Holmes, Futari wa Milky Holmes.

No, seriously.  It's like they took Nichijou and made it into a serious anime about cute school-girls.  I can't even ...

Why is this happening?  I feel like I've been robbed.
