I watched several episodes of Working! when it first came out but then I dropped it without regret. It seemed like really scuzzy, low-grade abuse humor on repeat and most of the characters were assholes. I really wanted that one violent girl to get punched in the face or for one of the other employees to fucking act like they cared that someone was getting injured repeatedly by a coworker. I decided I had no respect for any of them.

However, recently, due to boredom, I wanted the first episode of season 3. And, well, Yamada.

I guess what I want to know is if the second season is worth watching, too. Is it more Yamada, or is it more "lol someone got punched"?

I don't think it was ever really "scuzzy abuse humor on repeat" or that "most of the characters were assholes". Inami's character is painted as sympathetic, not domineering, and she does grow, albeit slowly. She certainly isn't hitting people because she is a sadist or anything. Also, who is an asshole exactly? You could call Inami an asshole, although I disagree with that, and maybe Hiroomi, although he is an asshole in a very "Izaya" way. Other than that, I got nothing.

While I don't blame you for not liking it, I think that it would be silly to watch S3 or S2 without watching S1, but whatever floats your boat.

What I saw had one coworker violently attacking other coworkers and no one doing anything about it.  I'm pretty certain management just stood there.  That's a nice working environment.  If that's the humor you like, whatever floats your boat.  I've never been much for the physical abuse trope, personally, especially when it's used so often.  I find it to be about as clever as a dead cat.

As for being silly to watch later seasons, I didn't find it to be particularly hard to pick up on anything.  The anime isn't exactly complex.  I think I can manage.

It just feels weird that you are trying to apply real world logic to the show's silly humor. Its like watching some catgirl anime and saying "these cat girls are enabling animal rape!" (I mostly just wanted to make a dig at PETA). Its hard for me to wrap my head around that perspective. Maybe its because I have a really easy time with suspension of disbelief...

Well anyways, Its been a while since I watched season 1, but I think after the first two episodes it tones down on the violence a bit. They just started the show off with Inami's character in the forefront because she one of the more important characters. Other than that, it really doesn't change very much so if you like season 3, you would probably like the other seasons. There will likely be episodes focusing more on Inami in season 3 too, but there were episodes about Yamada in S1 and S2. I wasn't saying that it was strange because you would miss anything, more like it would be strange because of how similar everything is and how I feel like season 1 was the best and parts of season 2 were really good.

Lol I still don't get the censorship on japanese TV, anime switching genre , and you are like "wth!, am I watching another anime !".

Same with that Gakou Gurashi anime, Some Poeple were saying " the best anime of the season", and after 5 min in the first episode I already wanted stop watching it, and it suddenly switched to a HOTD anime

Since I'm also watching the series solely for Yamada I can recommend Season 2. The Yamada content was steadily increased in every season.

Though I do recommend watching all of the seasons. They're exploring pretty much all relationships between all of the characters taking away focus from the Inami love story. It's interesting to see them all.

Yeah, I got the same reaction with GG. the only thing that kept me watching to the end was those genres =D Like while i was watching, I thought MAL made a mistake with the genres. Thankgod i didnt stop, since im loving this whole world they are living in, and the female protagonist.
